INC NEWS WORLD
Richie Ferrera: Welcome to INC News World. I’m Richie Ferreira, coming to you from the INC Media Studios in Anaheim, California. The experience of a difficult upbringing can deeply affect one’s outlook in life and how they navigate it, leading to feelings of hopelessness and feeling lost. For Jennizor, from Alaska, he sought all sorts of ways to care for his own life and his family’s, and through a simple invitation, he began to receive the answers he’d been looking for his whole life. Let’s take a look.

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA
Richie Ferrera: JP, a resident of Anchorage, Alaska, from a young age, has faced difficult challenges that left him feeling lost, and these struggles continued to shape him into adulthood.

COPING WITH LIFE STRUGGLES AND CHALLENGES
Jennizor Poblete: Growing up in a dysfunctional family, we don’t have any guidance. I pretty much got left alone by myself when I was probably between 12 to 13 years old. I’ve been through a lot of stuff, not knowing where I was gonna get my food the next day or that day and continue on until I got here back in 97 in the US. And it was, it was tough. It was very tough for me. What I’ve been through, it’s very challenging during the military for 20 years.
Richie Ferrera: For his wife, Mary Grace, who has also known what it’s like to feel lost, found herself distancing from her former religion.

SEEKING FOR THE TRUE FAITH
Mary Grace Poblete: Growing up as a Catholic, I stopped going to Church, and my kids and my husband were asking me why we don’t go to Church anymore. And I said, “I don’t know.” And then after that, I realized something’s missing.

SEEKING HOPE AMIDST LIFE CHALLENGES
Richie Ferrera: Refusing to give up hope, JP and Mary Grace continued their search for answers, until one day they received a timely invitation from a friend.
Jennizor Poblete: Brother Eric, to invite me one day. I didn’t even know that he was a Church Of Christ member. Somehow, some way, I believe that he’s actually a guiding light for me.

DISCOVERING THE TRUE FAITH
Richie Ferrera: A guiding light through an invitation to listen to God’s words that would pave the way for JP and Mary Grace, with the opportunity to learn more about the true teachings in the Church Of Christ.
Mary Grace Poblete: The Church is really an eye opening, the singing, the teachings I was blown away.
Jennizor Poblete: Just joy, the excitement, you know, the love, the knowledge that we have attended to. It’s very fulfilling.
Richie Ferrera: After receiving an opportunity to study the true teachings, JP and Mary Grace were eager to learn more about the Church Of Christ.
Jennizor Poblete: We come to understand more the beauty of being a member of the Church Of Christ.
Mary Grace Poblete: As I learned the doctrines of the Church, that their teachings of the [Catholic church] are different from the teachings from the Church Of Christ.
Richie Ferrera: Inspired by the teachings they received, JP and Mary Grace extended their invitation to their children, Inee and Jeric, further inspiring their family to learn more about the Church Of Christ.
Inee Poblete: Our house is full of course, we attended Catholic masses, but it never felt as connected as the Church Of Christ.
Jeric Poblete: It really opened my eyes, just to, you know, what the Catholic Church was teaching about, like the Trinity, tidings, abstaining from meat. I was doing all this, and I thought I was doing it for the love of God, but came to find out I was doing sins so it really opened my eyes.
Jennizor Poblete: And after that, we knew that we could call deep inside, in our heart, God called us.

HOLY BAPTISM IN ALASKA
Richie Ferrera: After undergoing a series of doctrinal studies. JP, and his family
reached the day when they would receive the Holy Baptism. As attendees gathered at the House of Worship in Anchorage to witness the sacred event led by Supervising Minister, Brother Astrophel Caraig.
Mary Grace Poblete: When we got baptized today, I was crying. I was thanking God at the same time that He blessed us with the election. That being called inside a Church Of Christ, not just me, but as a family.
Inee Poblete: What really motivated me in joining the Church was being closer to God. Our family is really thankful for the opportunity, and the baptism does help faith.
Jeric Poblete: It really allowed me to live a new way of life, and the baptism all the more solidified that made the right choice to be in the Church Of Christ.
Jennizor Poblete: Very powerful. It’s just appreciating everything that God has given us.

HOLY BAPTISM IN ALASKA
Richie Ferrera: For newly baptized members like Jericho, the Holy Baptism has brought a profound sense of reassurance in his faith.
Jericho Pascua: At first, I was very hesitant, because I wanted to join the Church of Christ, but after hearing one of the Bible studies, it felt completely different. But the more I started hearing more of the lessons, the more, it felt clear to me, and that’s where he gives me, like more curiosity to go even more excited to become a member.

DISCOVERING THE TRUE FAITH
Jay-Mark Pascua: It was really a blessing from God, because ever since I started hearing the Bible lessons, I was even really praying to God to really use me as an instrument to call others also into the Church, call my friends into the Church and start with my family.
Brother Astrophel Caraig: The intensive work of propagation manifests the love of the Church, led by the Church Administration, our Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, the love and concern for the people, for humanity. And this is our own way of doing the will of our Lord God, that people should know the truth in order for them to receive salvation.
Jennizor Poblete: Knowing the fact that you know if there’s an adversity coming which is going to happen regardless, I’m not going to fight that alone, but I’m fighting it with God next to me, and here we are. You know, with the grace of God, we are officially members of the Church Of Christ.

Richie Ferrera: In the State of Washington, we meet a woman and her search for the truth, a search that led her across the country and into the true faith. Let’s take a look.
Richie Ferrera: Sharia is a nurse currently living in Shoreline Washington. She was first introduced to the Church Of Christ by her friends in the Philippines, and that introduction would change her life forever.
Sharia Buscato: I admit it, I was one of the people who’s going to be judging you. Is it really like this? Are you sure you’re going to be saved with that? I mean, because all religions are the same.
Richie Ferrera: Although she turned down their invitation, at first, she found herself drawn to how sincere they were about their faith.
Sharia Buscato: I think it was after a year, but it was way back in the Philippines, there’s a Church near her house. It’s probably like a five minute drive. I was like, let me try.
Richie Ferrera: What she found there was unlike anything she had experienced before.
Sharia Buscato: My first ever worship service. It was like, what’s happening around me, how proper it is, how formal it is. It’s just you and God.
Richie Ferrera: This experience would leave an impression on her, one that would never leave her even after leaving the Philippines to move to Georgia to pursue a nursing career.
Sharia Buscato: That’s when I reached out to inc media online. I got connected to Brother Vic in Jacksonville, Florida, and he patiently, like did Bible study with me.
Richie Ferrera: The Bible based teachings were eye opening for Sharia.
Sharia Buscato: I was also curious. It piqued my interest.
Richie Ferrera: But her closest local congregations were more than two and a half hours away, and her demanding work schedule made it difficult to continue.
Sharia Buscato: Because I work as a nurse, so I’m working 12 hours, three twelves in a week. I tried going there once or twice. My schedule doesn’t match. It’s like after work, I’m gonna sleep for two hours then drive for two hours, 30 minutes, just one way. When my contract in Georgia was about to end, I was like, Brother Vic, I’m gonna move to a State where there’s a lot of churches.
Richie Ferrera: Sharia made sure that pursuing the true faith would be a major factor in her choice of where to go next, deciding on Shoreline, Washington. Sharia met Jem Villanueva, who became a friend and support system as she continued her journey towards baptism and membership in the Church Of Christ.
Jem Villanueva: She does not have a family here in the States at all. She came here on her own. And so when I also understood that, I kind of made that vow to myself of like, you know, I’ll be that family for you. She would come in, she already would bow her head, and she’s already praying to God. If someone is already so determined to know the truth and to be baptized, it inspires me a lot to also reflect on where my faith stands as well.

BAPTISM IN SEATTLE, WASHINGTON
Richie Ferrera: After receiving and fully believing in the teachings inside the Church Of Christ, Sharia, along with others, reached the day of baptism. The Holy Baptism took place in the Seattle House of Worship, and it was officiated by District Supervising Minister, Brother Ramil Regino
Sharia Buscato: No words can exactly describe how I feel. I feel all emotions at once, like I’m happy, I feel so thankful, I feel so blessed at the same time.
Brother Joel Alcantara: I would say that through God’s help, Sister Sharia will be a very active member. As early as now, she’s asking, how can she be a Church officer?
Brother Ramil Regino: It’s so important that we are always active and we continue to share our faith and share the words of our Lord God, because that’s our duty. As members of the Church Of Christ, we are really commanded to glorify God, and the best way to glorify him is to bear abundant fruits.
Richie Ferrera: Now strengthened by the hope of salvation, new members like Sharia, continue their journey of faith, striving to extend the same hope of salvation to more people throughout the world.

Richie Ferrera: Let’s go to Southern California, where I met a Los Angeles native, Robert. While prioritizing his health, he would be introduced to what turned out to be the best thing he needed for his well being. We will give you a closer look.
Richie Ferrera: Robert, a native of California, was raised with a religious upbringing as part of the Catholic Church, he would only attend a few special occasions throughout the year. But one day, he was introduced to the Church Of Christ, a moment that would lead to a life changing event.
Robert King: Was my workout partner at the gym. Keep on asking me, would I go to a Bible study? “Yeah, I’ll eventually go with you.” And finally, I said yes. After attending a Bible study, Robert was inspired to learn more.
Robert King: The Church Of Christ would give me the right answers to questions I would ask. There was one big Bible study that I went to, and I wanted to learn more, and I said, “Is there any possibility that I could join the Church?” And I felt something from his preaching.
Richie Ferrera: As Robert continued to learn about the true teachings, there were some eye opening moments.
Robert King: When I went into the Bible studies, and I found out a lot of things that were wrong with my religion. The one at me is the idols. That’s why, when I came into the Church here, I was able to learn the truth about all this, the idols, you know, worship them. I just didn’t feel that was right.
Richie Ferrera: Robert felt warmly welcomed by members he met at the start of his journey, and he was also inspired by the outreach programs of the Church Of Christ.
Robert King: We are brothers and sisters in the Church. They’ve been so supportive of all the humanitarian projects that the Church is in, and I’m really big in that.

BAPTISM IN LOS ANGELES COUNTY
Richie Ferrera: And after undergoing the doctrinal lessons inside the Church Of Christ, Robert, along with his fellow candidates for membership, has finally reached this momentous day. Led by Supervising Minister Brother Artemio Pilon, Jr., members from across the Ecclesiastical District of Los Angeles County, gathered at the House of Worship in Los Angeles to witness the significant occasion, a Holy Baptism in the Church Of Christ.
Robert King: I treasure that I am here, and baptized now.
Richie Ferrera: For Washington, he was grateful to receive the Holy Baptism.
Washington Hidalgo: I joined the Church Of Christ because through the lessons and right here, I can get my salvation. It’s another that I would have never expected in my life, and I’m happy.
Barbara Tenedor: I’m like a new person. I feel clean. Here is the real salvation.
Richie Ferrera: Barbara truly felt God’s blessings throughout her journey to becoming a Church Of Christ member. She battled stage four cancer during her doctrinal lessons, but despite these struggles, she was able to introduce her formerly devoted Catholic husband to the Church Of Christ as well.
Barbara Tenedor: When I had a CT scan –in February there was still a mass in my lungs. But when I did a scan again in May, the doctor wondered why the mass was gone. I said, “Doctor… “The Lord healed me.” My husband is a devout Catholic, but he was convinced. He was baptized in the Philippines. It’s like I’ve really been through a miracle. From Stage 4 [cancer] imagine, I’m still strong and I’m still able to work. My faith has become stronger because nothing is impossible to God.
Richie Ferrera: Through the continuous efforts of members and sharing the true faith, their hope is to please God. Lillian and Andres were each instrumental in helping a candidate for baptism become baptized inside the Church Of Christ.
Lilian & Andres Bermundo: Sometimes we were able to invite many people. And with God’s mercy, we were able to bear fruit. That’s why we’re happy. I feel good knowing you’ve helped the Church Administration.
Brother Artemio Pilon, Jr.: In the lesson, it was explained to them the importance of baptism inside the Church, but also to achieve that goal and receiving the life, eternal. All the brethren here in Los Angeles County, they are so happy in helping the propagation works to glorify our Lord Almighty God, because whenever we bear fruits, our Lord God is being pleased.
Richie Ferrera: These newly baptized members now begin a new life filled with hope and joy as part of God’s nation. So that many more will receive this blessing of salvation, the true words of God will continue to be shared in Los Angeles County and throughout the world as Church Of Christ members continue proudly sharing their faith.

Richie Ferrera: As we take a look at inspiring stories of individuals in the US leading to the day of their baptism, learning about the doctrines in the Church Of Christ could be an eye opening experience at first and with the truth they learned compared to what they knew all their lives, the difference is clear. It could change your lives for the better and for good. And this is exactly what happened to Robert from the East Coast. Let’s take a look.
Robert Graf: We’re all Protestant. My family is Protestant.
Richie Ferrera: Robert, though brought up religious, was intrigued after initially being told about the Church Of Christ by a friend from the Philippines. After being introduced and finding the Church close to him, near home, Robert was amazed learning about the teachings inside the Church for the first time. It made him realize the truth about what he grew up knowing.
Robert Graf: I learned that Protestant churches were derivative or come from the Roman Catholic faith and the Trinity was something that began around 325, ad. I was like, hmm, that’s interesting. And then things started to click. But I wanted to listen and learn something inside me wanted me to stay. Started to investigate more and realize what I believe in, and why I believe it. I would say the main differences are, of course, Brother Manalo being a messenger of God, it’s all based on Scripture. So that’s important to me.

BAPTISM IN TEMPLE HILLS, MARYLAND
Richie Ferrera: After listening to and fully believing the teachings he heard in the Church Of Christ, Robert, along with others, reached a day of their baptism. Held at the temple hills, Maryland, house of worship. The baptism was led by Supervising Minister, Brother Sydney Santos, who emphasized endurance and staying strong in the faith.
Robert Graf: I feel good, I feel happy. I feel lighter and at peace.
Rebecca Mendoza: Of course, when you are able to sponsor someone, you feel proud that you were able to save a soul.
Robert Graf: To search for God and really want to find God, you got to start from the beginning.
Richie Ferrera: Excited to start his life as a member of the Church Of Christ. Robert hopes that he can encourage his family to listen to the teachings in the Church.
Robert Graf: That clean slate. I do feel great, I feel good, I feel whole. It’s going to be a process, and I just pray that God and the Holy Spirit will guide me.
Brother Audric Dulay: This is just the beginning of their journey. That we’re baptized today in our local congregation, is that they will continue to mature in faith. That they will see the miracles that God gives, the victories he gives the Church, and I do hope that God will give them victories in their lives, and that God rewards those who stay faithful.
Richie Ferrera: For those baptized today, like Robert, this is only the start of a new chapter, one filled with faith, peace and a renewed purpose inside the Church Of Christ.
