NEWSREPOTER 2: It’s been the heart of one St. Louis community for a hundred seventeen years. But the doors of Dover Place Christian Church are closing for good.

VOICEOVER: But the Church of Christ is harboring a different kind of headline.
NEWSREPORTER, Wall Street Journal: This: The Philippine Arena, certified as the world’s largest indoor stadium by the Guinness Book of world records.
VOICEOVER: Recently, the Church of Christ has purchased several properties and dedicated new houses of worship to God all over the world.
ERIC KNOWLES, Cushman and Wakefield: Iglesia Ni Cristo is clearly doing something ‘cause you’re growing. You’re expanding like crazy.
CHRIS BURY, CNL Religious and Educational Real Estate: What I’ve noticed, and I don’t go to that part of church, but the faith, and really practicing your faith seems like that’s kinda the mission of the Iglesia Ni Cristo.
NEWSREPORTER 4: It’s been bought and refurbished by the Iglesia Ni Cristo or the Church of Christ. They’re a church from the Philippines.
PHILIP VELASQUEZ, Church of Christ: Very aware that a church or religious organization, which began in the far east, an impoverished country would actually spread it’s mission throughout the whole world, bring it’s mission to first world countries. We don’t practice tithing.
VOICEOVER: We don’t join business ventures and we don’t rely on bank loans. We do however follow the biblical command about Christian giving because in the Church of Christ, the bible is the true basis of our faith.
NEWSREPORTER, 5: The Church of Christ stepped up to help and created one of the biggest blood drives in Hawaii to date.
ALAN WANG, ABC 7: Members of a church in Fremont provided a variety of free services to their community today.
NEWSREPORTER 5: It offers everything from clothing giveaways to medical screenings.
NEWSREPORTER 6: The effort today was part of a nationwide program to help families during challenging economic times.
VOICEOVER: And the bible inspires us to place an importance on humanity.
JACK CLOVES, Feltham Community College: Giving thing, you know it’s just really nice to kind of know the people that are actually doing something for their faith, you know?
CATHY BARRET, Taft Community Center: The Church of Christ has been wonderful. All their members have been so supportive. They’re definitely a church that is community minded, who wants to give back to the communities, and we really appreciate all you’ve done.
VOICEOVER: We believe in reaching out to our fellow men for our outreach programs in various parts of the world like the INCGiving project and the International Aid for Humanity program.
THANDIWE SONGWAXA, INCTV: We are having “My Countrymen, My Brethren” and we’re gonna give them food rations.

NEWSREPORTER 7: His excellency, Martin Slabber, reached out to the INC when he heard when he heard of the evangelical and outreach missions when Brother Eduardo V. Manalo INC Executive Minister visited South Africa a few years ago.
VOICEOVER: It’s an effort not only recognized by the very individuals it serves but has even set world records in the process. Guinness World Record Representative: On behalf of Guinness World Records, I would like to present Iglesia Ni Cristo with the record for the largest charity work.
NEWSREPORTER, En International: Meanwhile, another Iglesia Ni Cristo outreach program with the theme “Let’s Fight the Poverty” was a success in Tondo, Manila.
GABBY CONCEPTION, Filipino Actor: It’s always nice to be in outreach programs because we are able to share our time and the INC has always done this not only in the Philippines but all over the world.
VOICEOVER: While almost all Christian professing religions have started from the West and made their way to the East, the Iglesia Ni Cristo is different. It began in a developing country, and progressed to the West with congregations worldwide in nearly one hundred countries and territories.
