Michelle Peredo: In today’s world, while more individuals are leaving their previous religions, more are joining the Church Of Christ. For a woman in British Columbia, we discover how she found hope at one of the lowest parts of her life, Myrtle Alegado gives us the details.
Nyslynn Robete: Since coming here in Canada in 2018 at that time, I was really at my lowest point.
Myrtle Alegado: Nyslynn from Victoria, British Columbia, faced significant personal struggles in her life after moving to Canada.
Nyslynn Robete: I just came from a broken family. My mom just died. It was a series of events. I was really struggling with work. I was a single mom of three, and I felt like I couldn’t suddenly support my children financially and responsibly, and I was just alone.
Myrtle Alegado: Soon, a lifeline would be extended by a co-worker when Nyslynn received an invitation to attend a Bible study and a worship service in the Church Of Christ, rekindling her hope.

DISCOVERING THE CHURCH OF CHRIST
Nyslynn Robete: When I was invited, I agreed right away. My previous religion was Christian Reformed Church. I grew up as a pastor’s kid.
Myrtle Alegado: For Nyslynn, the contrast was stark.
Nyslynn Robete: Coming into church, it was very solemn. I didn’t know that this is how disciplined the Church Of Christ is, because before in my religion, it was not like that.
Myrtle Alegado: And when Nyslynn began her Bible study lessons, some of the biblical truths were initially difficult to accept.
Nyslynn Robete: I grew up believing in the Holy Trinity and in here the teaching of the Church Of Christ, there is no Holy Trinity that we only believe in one God, but to really listen and to open up my heart.
Myrtle Alegado: And after fully believing in the true doctrine, she was taught, Nyslynn and fellow candidates for membership would finally reach the day of the Holy Baptism.

HOLY BAPTISM IN BRITISH COLUMBIA
Myrtle Alegado: Members from across the district of British Columbia have gathered here at the house of worship of Burnaby to witness this special occasion, a Holy Baptism in the Church Of Christ.
Myrtle Alegado: Through the homily led by Supervising Minister, Brother Glen Baitan, attendees were reminded that faithful servants of God must remain steadfast in obedience to Him. This sacred event represents a new chapter in the lives of the newly baptized members, including Engelica.
Engelica Ingalla: When you get baptized and you wash away, you bury all your past life and all your sins until you actually experience that. It’s completely something else, but it’s just like I feel lighter. I made it. I just believe that I’m here now.

HOLY BAPTISM IN BRITISH COLUMBIA
Brother Romeo Maglaya: It is our hope and our prayer to our Lord God that all those who join the Church will remain strong in the faith. They will grow in their faith, as well as develop their unique relationship with our Lord God, so that no matter what happens in this life, whatever challenges that we face each day, we will continue to serve our Lord God, continue to obey that we may all attain salvation on the Day of Judgment.
Nyslynn Robete: I was just thankful that God didn’t turn His back on me. There is someone who I can come to, who I can talk to, and really listen to my pain and struggles. But I am thankful that I’m here in the Church Of Christ.
Myrtle Alegado: No longer feeling alone with God listening to her prayers, Nyslynn hopes that her family will also open their minds and hearts to the true faith.
Nyslynn Robete: The promise of salvation with the Church Of Christ, I was hoping that they could listen and really take it to heart about the words of God, so they could experience what I have experienced. I’m really happy that I am now a member of the Church Of Christ, and my salvation is secured.
Myrtle Alegado: Filled with great joy, these new members now embrace the hope of their promised salvation. They embark on a new journey as part of God’s nation committed to faithful service to Him. From Burnaby, British Columbia. Myrtle Alegado for the Iglesia Ni Cristo News Network.
Michelle Paredo: Congratulations to the newly baptized in British Columbia, and All praises be to God. Do you remember the moment you felt a change in your life learning about the true faith? Tell us about it in the comments.
