Daniel Keuning (Local Congregation of Downtown, Ecclesiastical District of Calgary): I’m familiar with the duties and just be assisting and helping the leadership in the local to edify the brethren, which I was already doing as an overseer.
Brother Johnny Adalla: Daniel Cunning has been a member of the Church Of Christ for more than 20 years and in the local congregation of Downtown, he is an overseer, a church duty that involves taking care of the spiritual welfare of the brethren under their care.
Daniel Keuning (Local Congregation of Downtown, Ecclesiastical District of Calgary): Just to progress in my faith and the expression of my faith and my love for the Church and the members of my group, my area.
Brother Johnny Adalla: And as a resident in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Daniel’s dedication led him to take the next step in his service by becoming a deacon, helping to ensure the orderliness and solemnity of the worship services. A crucial part of every Church Of Christ member’s faith.
Daniel Keuning (Local Congregation of Downtown, Ecclesiastical District of Calgary): As a deacon serving in the worship service, helping preserve the orderliness solemnity of the service, I feel like an expression of our faith and the growth we felt inside of our faith.
Brother Johnny Adalla: Daniel’s resolve is just one example, as a result of the growing need for officers in the Church Of Christ in Canada. In a recent gathering in the Ecclesiastical District of Calgary, members from various local congregations joined together for a special gathering to take an oath of office and accept new Church duties led by the District Supervising Minister Brother Voltaire Tamisin, they were reminded of the necessity for more church officers in providing spiritual care.
Brother Voltaire Tamisin (Supervising Minister, Ecclesiastical District of Calgary): At the start of this year, the month of January, we held a big Care For Humanity in the Telus Convention Center. Afterwards, we had a series of evangelical missions to follow up on our invited guest because of God’s help and mercy, there were many registered as Bible student. This is why we need many new officers who will help take care of the new brethren.
Brother Johnny Adalla: Young members also find their newfound duties as a source of strength and spiritual growth.
Primo Guinto (Choir Member, CWS Teacher, Riverbend, Calgary): It makes our connection with God closer.
Angel Bertulfo (Light of Salvation Secretary, Riverbend, Calgary): It feels great because I know that I have increased my faith inside the Church Of Christ. If we prioritize our duty, our faith will grow stronger and God will love us more.
Brother Voltaire Tamisin (Supervising Minister, Ecclesiastical District of Calgary): It is the earnest desire of our Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, that all the members of the Church Of Christ be guided to receive salvation. This is the reason the officers in the Church are always willing to deny themselves because of their love for the brethren in the Church. Many officers have also even accepted additional Church duties because it is their desire to help the Church Administration in taking care of the Church.
Brother Johnny Adalla: And as the Church continues to grow in Calgary, this transformative experience for Daniel is hoped to be the experience of many others.
Daniel Keuning (Local Congregation of Downtown, Ecclesiastical District of Calgary): It helps grow the brotherhood. They will feel it when they accept the offer of any office that they will grow. They will progress in their faith to be more ready to take on more things, even other aspects of their life.
Brother Johnny Adalla: Church of Christ members here in Calgary are just part of the ever growing answer to the divine call for more officers throughout the globe to help care for the spiritual welfare of an ongoing, growing family.
