Michael Robinson: The Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia, is a major tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches and where the sun shines bright. But today, the Gold Coast shines extra bright as a new house of worship was dedicated to God through a special worship service. Let’s go to Brendan Thompson with the story.
Milan Ryan Andrews: Our first reaction this morning was honestly just out of this world.
Nene Bell: So thankful and in gratitude to be able to have this really wonderful house of worship here in Gold Coast.
Russel Ronquillo: A great experience that I will cherish till the day I die.
Brendan Thompson: These were the reactions of members of the Church Of Christ here in Gold Coast after a special worship service where they were able to take part in a momentous event, the dedication of a new house of worship to God. With its subtropical climate, world famous theme parks and stunning beaches, the Gold Coast in Queensland has become one of Australia’s most visited cities, serving for many as a temporary getaway from the stresses of everyday life. For members of the Church of Christ here in the Gold Coast however, there’s a special place where they find true peace and happiness: their newly renovated house of worship, which was dedicated today to the Lord God.
Russel Ronquillo: From the start of hymn singing until the end, the spiritual blessing that we received today nothing can compare. Only proves that our Lord God really loves us.
Brother Edwil Zabala: Beloved Brothers and Sisters, fellow members of the Church Of Christ, our Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo Manalo, extends his warmest greetings to all the brethren, not only in the congregation of Gold Coast, but also to the whole district of Queensland. He greatly desires that all of you brethren, not only in this local congregation, but in the entire district, will continue to uphold our divine election and serve the Lord God so as to receive the grace of salvation.
Brendan Thompson: Leading in the dedication of the house of worship and sent from the Philippines by the Church Administration, Brother Edwil Zabala officiated the special worship service. Members were strengthened once again by the lesson they heard.
Nene Bell: To understand the importance of being closer to God, knowing that we have a living God.
Josephine Currie: Worship Service is very important because it’s our refuge with God. This is where we pray, tell our problems to God, and ask for help in everything we do
Brother Glenn David: Prioritize the worship service, because if we forsake our worship service because of problems and challenges in life, just like what was mentioned in our worship service lesson, you’re just adding to your problem. So we don’t want that to happen, to have God missing in our lives. So all the more we should attend a worship service, go to the temple, and all the more God will be with us.
Brendan Thompson: Humility and gratitude were not the only emotions felt during this historic occasion, but for members like Nene, today’s dedication served as a symbol of hope and light during life’s many challenges.
Nene Bell: Brother Murray, my husband, was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia. And it’s really with God’s help that we’re able to overcome all this struggle, all these tests, one after another, and we’re here and celebrating our dedication of the local [congregation].
Brendan Thompson: This historic event was made even more special for church members like Mark, a licensed electrician, who was one of the many brethren who helped in the renovations of the house of worship.
Mark Henderson: It did require a lot of time, a lot of extra time and a lot of extra effort. So it’s quite a substantial upgrade to the electrical system. Everyone came together and really pitched in and really helped one another. It was really such a good group effort.
Milan Ryan Andrews: A lot of us here have sacrificed so much. Many of the brethren have put so much blood, sweat and tears into this. So to see it all in one piece now and standing up straight, it’s beautiful and it’s really, really, really nice.
Josephine Currie: We have to keep our faith with God and look after our house of worship so our God will be glorified.
Brother Orly Macayan: The Chapel dedication is very important to all of us, not only here in Gold Coast local but even in the entire district of Queensland, Australia. This means that once again, we have felt the love and kindness of our Lord God through our Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo.
Milan Ryan Andrews: The House of Worship means everything to us. The place you come to be closest to God and our Lord Jesus Christ. So no other greater place to be.
Nene Bell: This is where I find strength and peace of mind. This is where I draw strength and hope. I am really thankful to God and gratitude as well to the Church Administration. I can come down here anytime, utter my personal prayer, and it’s the only through God that I can call on anytime.
Brother Edwil Zabala: Aside from pleasing the Lord God, it also helps the members of the Church, because houses of worship are used primarily as places where we offer praise to the Lord God and where we offer our prayers to the Father. It’s a place where a member of the Church of Christ can go even when it’s not a worship service day, to speak to the Lord God, because the Lord God makes a promise to his nation. In the House of Worship dedicated to him by his nation that is where his name will dwell. His eyes, His ears are open to the prayers there. His heart will always be there.
Russel Ronquillo: Thank you so much. Through the Church Administration, through Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, all our praises and glory to our Lord God.
Brendan Thompson: This newly renovated house of worship is further proof of God’s love, guidance and help to the Church Of Christ all over the world, and to the Church Administration, he placed to lead us. From Gold Coast Australia. I’m Brother Brendan Thompson, reporting to the Iglesia Ni Cristo News Network.
