Don Felipe Sánchez Ramírez ha cosechado muchos reconocimientos por parte de la gente por todo el progreso que este gran hombre llevó a San Miguel El Grande, Oaxaca. Para él, la membresía en la Iglesia De Cristo es el más grande reconocimiento que le ha tomado casi una vida para obtenerlo.

Voiceover: El pueblo de San Miguel El Grande, Oaxaca, México no es reconocido por todo el mundo. Pero el reconocimiento del Señor Dios ha bendecido a este pequeño pueblo ubicado entre los picos de la Sierra Madre.
Felipe Sánchez Ramírez: Pero uno no puede decir “si voy a llegar a 100 tanto”. O “Si voy a vivir como Moisés”, ¿no? ¿Quién vivió unos 120 años, no? Pero no sé qué día El Señor podría llamarme.
Presentador: Miembro de la Iglesia De Cristo, Felipe Sánchez Ramírez, ha logrado mucho, pero fue en su jubilación y logró encontrar la verdad que esperaba y por toda su vida.
Erlinda Leonor Sánchez, hija de Felipe: Desde muy joven, muy joven, conocido el evangelio. Tal vez no era el evangelio correcto, pero él conoce el evangelio y eso lo ayudó mucho para que pudiera tomar decisiones correctas en su vida. En la Biblia, hay un versículo en donde dice que, “No temas, porque Yo te guiaré.”
Felipe: Pero gracias al Señor porque entendí, crecí, “No temas. No temas porque Yo Dios tengo que ayudar para hablar que así.” He logrado de conseguir el CETA [la escuela]. He logrado que hacer el camino de San Miguel a Juarez.
Erlinda Leonor Sanchez: [Este es el] Presidente municipal en los años 70. Toda su vida él anduvo de huarachitos. Hasta hace poco que empeza usar zapatos. Todo era caminar.
Felipe: Antes no había camino. Yo caminaba de aquí a Oaxaca. Cuatro días para llegar a Oaxaca, al estado. El camino de San Miguel a Tlaxiaco estaba todos llenos más de matorral.
Presentador: San Miguel todavía reconocen a Felipe—
Jose Luis Perez: Felipe Sanchez. Fue un ex presidente de aquí de San Miguel El Grande.
Presentador: —y se acuerdan de lo que hizo.
Jose: Él fue el gestor de ese camino carretero. Las huellas de aquí del señor Felipe fue el camino carretero y así es lo que sembró. Es ahora así es el trabajo ¿no?
Felipe: Entonces, el gobierno mandaba hacer el trabajo, pero el gobierno tenía que pagar. Cada 15 días viniera el pagador ya. Ya, ha arreglado el camino.
Presentador: Y los avances en San Miguel El Grande fueron desde la tierra al aire.
Felipe: Había un campo de aviación en una colonia que se llama Ignacio Zaragoza. Un americano me escribió que yo si había una pista para aterrizar una avioneta para traer medicamento para las gentes de este pueblo. El campo tiene 1500 metros de largo por 70 de ancho. Aterrizó Hugo Cervantes del Río para inaugurarlo. Ahí es aterrizó el avión presidencial.
Presentador: Felipe logró mucho a pesar de tener muy poco.
Erlinda: Él fue muy pobre de niño. Muy pobre. Fue un huérfanito, no tuvo papá. Su papá murió cuando tenía cinco años. Su vida ha sido difícil.
Felipe: Él tenía dificultad con la gente, con los funcionarios. Hay unos que me tratan muy bien, otros me trata mal. Al presidente Echeverría, tenía que explicarle para que quería la escuela. Él dice “No, es muy difícil,” “No, no se puede.” Pero yo digo el presidente le han dado muchos regalos libres , ¿no? una cobija con la foto de Doña Esther. He ido a señora, aquí le traigo un regalo. Rápido, le conté. Que mi pueblo quiere que construir e instalar un CETA.
Presentador: Perseverancia valió la pena y la CETA fue construida.
Felipe: Fue el 20 de marzo de 1975.
Presentador: Así fue que un niño nacido en la privación superó el infortunio para sí mismo y su municipio, guiado por la Biblia.
Felipe: Yo leí es mi parte. Yo leí la Biblia pero hay cosas que no entiendo.
Presentador: Felipe seguirlo en una iglesia cuando Felipe se acordó de un conocido.
Andres Cuevas Cruz: Mi suegro llegó a la casa y me dijo “Ya resolví. Ya sé a qué iglesia vamos a ir. Vamos a ir a la iglesia de Noé.”
Presentador: Y ese semana mismo de invitación les alcanzó.
Oliveria Aparicio: Lo habíamos invitado al hermano Felipe. No sé, después se fueron. Ya no quisieron venir. Pero después cuando volvimos que iba a ver la misión evangélica. Volvimos a ir a invitar a su yerno el hermano Andrés.
Felipe: —me preguntaron de qué religión soy. Yo no podía contestarle. Ahora en 3 de junio, entonces ya escuché pues mucha avanzas, la Iglesia.
Presentador: Desde la primera visita Pastoral en México la Iglesia De Cristo se ha extendido a varias lugares en hispanoamérica: en Panamá, en Ecuador, en Chile, e incluso la República Dominicana.
Hermano Ezekiel Silva: Hicimos una misión evangélica que con la ayuda del Señor Dios tuvo un éxito porque a pesar de que hay muy pocos hermanos en este lugar, tuvimos más de 100 invitados.
Oliveria: Ellos fueron los primeros que llegar. Dijeron que quería ser bautizado porque lee la Biblia y dice: “este versículo y este capítulo”.
Felipe: Como había leído antes, dice, aquellos que no están bautizados no pueden ser salvo. Entonces dije: “No soy bautizado, ¿cómo seré salvo?”
Hermano Ezekiel: Como el hermano Felipe ya tiene 97 años, dijo que realmente no sabe lo que podría pasar. Él sabe que si no es bautizado dentro de la verdadera iglesia, por más que cree en las palabras del Señor Dios, no será salvo.
Noe Aparicio: Él mismo dijo con los hermanos que quería que se quedará un ministro aquí en San Miguel El Grande, para que salvará muchas almas.
Hermano Ezekiel: Y desde entonces ya me quedé aquí en esta ciudad y realizamos estudios bíblicos cada día.
Presentador: Felipe encontró por fin la iglesia verdadera.
Felipe: He leído la Biblia y la Iglesia De Cristo lo que está escrita en la Biblia. Ha da gusto para mí. Este es el hermano Eduardo V. Manalo no? Es porque él lee la Biblia, ¿correcto?
Presentador: Aunque quería bautizarse después de dos lecciones, Felipe siguió la guianza de los ministros. Llegó el día.
Felipe: Podrían estar diciendo “Él es muy viejo, ¿fallecerá ahora que está bautizado?” Pues sí. Para ser un nuevo hombre . Mi trabajo es creer y ser firme. Sí, es difícil, es difícil. Lo importante es que yo quiero llegar a la ciudad celestial. ¿Y qué si me duelen todos los huesos? Pero siempre, cuando puedo, y todavía pueda. Tenemos que asistir.
Hermano Eduardo, me da gusto de ser miembro de la Iglesia De Cristo, y espero que usted nos apoye para seguir hasta siendo miembros de la Iglesia De Cristo, en todos los días de mi vida. Gracias.
Como el rey David dijo a su hijo, el rey Salomón dijo; dice “Ya me voy, pero el camino es de todos. Pero guarda los mandamientos de Dios y sé un hombre”. Pero no sé qué día el Señor podría llamar, y hay caminar como David.

Sebastien Dicette: Me siento muy bendecido por la gracia y la bendición de Dios y por nuestro querido ministro, el hermano Paul Martinez Jr..

La historia de la Iglesia en La República Dominicana comenzó el año 2006, cuando el Hermano Paulin Jolly fue acompañado por el Ministro del Evangelio, Jeremias Parocha a propagar el Evangelio en la República Dominicana.
Paulin Jolly Sr.: Regresa a los Estados Unidos, mi tío me dijo que “Tú venga aquí también” para visitar a su familia y le dije que no. Ya no voy a República Dominicana. Solo si Dios permite que la Iglesia De Cristo venga aquí. Había un ministro aquí conmigo para predicar la palabra de Dios.

Los hermanos agradecen mucho el nuevo Servicio de Adoración no solamente por su propio beneficio sino que también significa un beneficio para todo la República Dominicana.
Sebastien Dicette: Es una gran prueba de que la Iglesia De Cristo está creciendo aquí en la República Dominicana.
Elacia Figueroa: Precisamente en Puerto Plata fue cuando recibí el bautismo. Cuando realmente [me convertí] en miembro de la Iglesia De Cristo. Siempre que tengo la oportunidad, yo hablo con cada persona porque tengo la mayor intención de que todo el mundo conozca de la Iglesia De Cristo.
Paulin.: Creo que la Iglesia De Cristo es la iglesia el Señor Jesucristo fundó en el primer siglo. La gente tiene a entrar a la Iglesia De Cristo para recibir la salvación en el día del juicio. Pero, es un obligación de nosotros que propagar a la gente la palabra de Dios. Hablo con la gente en las calles. Hablo con la gente en la store. A cualquiera persona, yo hablo con él de la Iglesia De Cristo.

Un estudiante de la Biblia sabe que la presencia de la Iglesia en su país es una esperanza para enfrentar los eventos que ha vivido.
Charles Louinel: Yo soy de Haití y soy aquí viviendo desde 2011, un año después del terremoto en mi país. Uno ve que lo que está pasando en este mundo y tú eres que en verdad ve todo esta y la venida de Jesucristo está cerca y ya saber que no hay otra forma de ser salvo. Es de estar en la Iglesia De Cristo. Muchas gracias ya a la Administración. Estaba pensando a nosotros y mandó nuestro hermano a venir aquí.

Don Felipe Sánchez Ramírez is recognized by many for his contributions to the progress of San Miguel El Grande, Oaxaca. For him, membership in the Church Of Christ is the greatest type of recognition, having taken him a lifetime to receive.

Male Voiceover: The town of San Miguel El Grande, Oaxaca, Mexico is not recognized by everyone—but the recognition of God has blessed this small town nestled among the peaks of the Sierra Madre.
Felipe Sánchez Ramírez: But one can’t say, “if I’ll reach 100-something” or “If I’ll live like Moses”, no? Who lived 120 or so years, no? But I don’t know what day the Lord could call me.
Male Voiceover: Member of the Church Of Christ, Felipe Sanchez Ramirez, has achieved a lot, but it was in retirement that he managed to find the truth that he had hoped for all his life.
Erlinda Leonor Sanchez, Felipe’s daughter: Since he was very young, very young, he learned about the gospel. Maybe not the correct gospel—but he learned about the gospel and that helped him a lot so he could make the right decisions in his life. There’s a verse in the Bible that says, “Do not be afraid, for I will guide you.”
Felipe: But thank God, because I understood, I grew up: “Do not be afraid” because I have God to help me speak.” That is how I’ve been able to obtain the school (CETA). I’ve been able to have the road made from San Miguel to Juarez.
Erlinda: This is the mayor in the seventies, his whole life he got around in sandals. Just recently he started wearing shoes. It was all his walking.
Felipe: Before, there was no road. I would walk from here to Oaxaca [City]. Four days to get to Oaxaca – the capital. The road from here to Tlaxiaco was filled with bushes.
Male Voiceover: Everyone in San Miguel still knows Felipe.
Jose Luis Perez, Road Maintenance Worker: Felipe Sanchez, he was the former mayor here in San Miguel El Grande.
Male Voiceover: —and they all remember his progress.
Jose: He was the manager of that highway. The footprint here of Mr. Felipe was on the road- what he planted- that’s the work now, right?
Felipe: So the government mandated the work, but the government had to pay. Every 15 days payment would come. That’s it, the road was fixed.
Male Voiceover: And the advances in San Miguel El Grande went from the ground to the air.
Felipe: There was a field – an air strip, in a township called, Ignacio Zaragoza. An American wrote to me asking if there was a runway to land a plane to bring medication to the people of this town. The field is 1,500 meters in length and a width of 70. Hugo Cervantes del Rio landed to inaugurate it. That is where the presidential plane landed.
Male Voiceover: Felipe was able to accomplish a lot, despite having little money..
Erlinda: He was very poor as a child. Very poor, he was an orphan. He didn’t have a dad. His dad passed away when he was 5 years old. His life has been difficult.
Felipe: But I’ve had difficulties with people, with the officials. There’s some that treat me really well and others that treat me poorly. I had to explain [to President Echeverría] why we wanted a school. He said, “No, it’s very hard” or “We can’t do it”, but let me say- they’ve given the President many gifts, no? I ordered a blanket to be made with the photo of Doña Esther (First lady). I go to her with the gift. Fast, I tell you. My town would like to build a secondary school (CETA).
Male Voiceover: Perseverance was worth it and the secondary school was built.
Felipe: It was March 20, 1975.
Male Voiceover: It was a boy born into poverty, overcame misfortune for himself and his town, guided by the Bible.
Felipe: I’ve read the Bible, but there are things I don’t understand.
Male Voiceover: Felipe and his son-in-law searched for a church when he remembered an acquaintance.
Andres Cuevas Cruz, Son-in-law of Felipe: My dad came by and said, “I got it, we’ll go to the church Noé goes to.”
Male Voiceover: They heeded their invitation.
Oliveria Aparicio: We’ve invited Brother Felipe. But after that, I don’t know, he left. They didn’t want to come. But after, we came back since there was going to be an Evangelical Mission. We went back to invite his son-in-law, Brother Andres.
Felipe: Many have asked me what religion I am. But I could not answer them. Now on June 3rd (2017), that’s when I heard the Church Of Christ has had a lot of progress.
Male Voiceover: Since the first pastoral visitation of the Executive Minister in Mexico, the Church Of Christ has reached many places in Latin America. In Panama, in Ecuador, in Chile, and in the Dominican Republic.
Brother Ezekiel Silva, Minister: We held an Evangelical Mission that with the help of the Lord God, was successful, because in spite of there being very few brethren in this place, we had more than 100 guests.
Oliveria: They were the first to come. They said he wanted to be baptized because he reads the Bible and he says, “this verse and this chapter”.
Felipe: As I’d read before, [the Bible] says, those who are not baptized can’t be saved. So I said, “I’m not baptized, how will I be saved?”
Brother Ezekiel: Since Brother Felipe is already 97 years old, he said that he doesn’t really know what could happen. He knows that if he isn’t baptized in the true church—however much he believes in God’s words—he won’t be saved.
Noe Aparicio, Head Deacon, San Miguel El Grande: He himself said to the brothers, he wanted a minister to stay in San Miguel El Grande, for many souls to be saved.
Brother Ezekiel: And from then on I’ve stayed here in this city and we hold Bible Study everyday.
Male Voiceover: Felipe finally found the true Church.
Felipe: I have read the Bible and the Church Of Christ that’s written in the Bible. I’m pleased by this. This is Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, no? It’s because he reads the Bible, correct?
Male Voiceover: Although he wanted to be baptized after two lessons, Felipe followed the guidance of the ministers. The day came.
Felipe: They might be saying, “He’s very old, will he pass away now that he is baptized?”. Well yes—to be a new man. My work is to believe and be firm. Yes, it’s very hard. It’s hard. The important thing is that I want to make it to the heavenly city. So what if all my bones are hurting? But always, when I can, and I still can—we have to attend.
Brother Eduardo, I’m happy to be a member of the Church Of Christ, and I hope you continue to uphold us, to continue as members of the Church Of Christ, everyday of my life. Thank you.

Paulin Jolly, Sr., Head Deacon: When I returned to the United States, my uncle said visit us here. Also to visit his family and I said no. I go to the Dominican Republic no more. Only if God allows the Church Of Christ to come here. There was a minister with me to preach the word of God.

Elacia Figueroa: Precisely in Puerto Plata was when I received baptism. When I really became a member of the Church Of Christ. Whenever I have the opportunity, I speak with each person because I have the greatest intention of letting everyone know about the Church Of Christ.
Paulin: I believe that the Church Of Christ is the Church (the Lord Jesus Christ) founded in the first century. People have to enter the Church Of Christ to be saved on Judgment Day. It’s a must for us to spread the word of God to people. I talk to people in the streets, in the market- anyone we talk to, we talk to them about the Church Of Christ.

Charles Louinel: I am from Haiti and I’ve been living here since 2011. A year after the earthquake in my country. You see what is happening in this world and you see that everything is really close and the coming of Jesus Christ is near and you know there is no other way to be saved than to be in the Church Of Christ.
