Christian Media: Where Truth Meets You

Finding Every Opportunity to Give Back

INC Giving volunteers remain dedicated to community service–in this week’s INC Giving recap we learn about volunteers donating blood and plasma and others who gathered to beautify the beach. There are so many ways to help if we continue to seek every opportunity to give back to the community.

Finding Every Opportunity to Give Back to The Community

Elijah: Hello, INC Giving family! Always a bright day when we can see all of the amazing INC Giving activities and positivity around the world! Let’s go!

Elijah: The rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain. Okay. Okay maybe it sounds better when Eliza Doolittle says it in “My Fair Lady”. Any “My Fair Lady” fans? Anyone? None? Okay–moving on!

Elijah: Our first stop is in Spain. Check out these bright uniforms. They’re worn by city workers whose job is to keep Madrid clean, rain or shine. And to express their appreciation for their hard work, INC Giving volunteers handed them free snacks and drinks. Great job, everyone!

Elijah: *Sighs* I would love to see Spain someday, not just say it.

Elijah: Next, we head over to the Philippines! Santiago City, to be exact. INC Giving volunteers of all ages gathered to hand out free pandesal, a tasty bread rolls, coffee

and INC Giving mugs? For more coffee? Happy Sabado or Saturday indeed!

Elijah: A happy group of volunteers in Caloocan City gave out free food, toys and books and yes, on a Saturday too! They also did a cleanup drive to give back to their neighborhood.

Elijah: As one volunteer shared, “Saturdays are for spreading joy and kindness. What a wonderful way to start the weekend.”

Elijah: Have you and your fellow INC Giving volunteers set a day of the week to do acts of kindness? We would love to hear about it!

Elijah: Now heading over to Santo Tomas City in Batangas. 150 volunteers did grass cutting and clearing and donated school supplies for 75 grade one learners at Santa Clara Elementary School. The Department of Education posted, “Santa Clara Elementary School expresses heartfelt appreciation to all the INC Giving volunteers for their unwavering dedication to community service. The collective efforts underscore the transformative power of united action.”

Elijah: Amazing! Salamat po! (Thank you!)

Elijah: This week, many of our INC Giving volunteers focused on “care for kids.” Over in Coron, Palawan, youth volunteers gave out free snacks to children in Barangay 6.

Elijah: In Bocaue, Bulacan South, there were “libreng laruan” or free toys for kids. So cool!

Elijah: In Nabunturan, Davao De Oro, free meals, hygiene kits and clothes were given out to boys at their local correctional center.

Elijah: And now at Santa Cruz, Marinduque. Leo Rosales Jr. and his mother Corazon and fellow INC Giving volunteers brought smiles to 150 students at Tapian Elementary school with free school supplies!

Leonardo Rosales: I am grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community that has given me so much with providing school supplies to students. As someone who would have been incredibly grateful to receive such support as a child, it is deeply rewarding to help ensure that today’s students have the resources they need to succeed in their education.

Elijah: And fun fact Leo and his mom are actually from Rouge Park, not Rogue Park in Eastern Ontario, and recently shared their seniors appreciation activities. It’s so wonderful to see them continue INC Giving even when they’re on vacation.

Elijah: Next, we head down to Visayas Ave, District of Central–and guess what? They had a seniors activity as well. The tag says it all. “We deeply appreciate you!” I love that and the fruit is so nicely wrapped.

Elijah: Now over in San Isidro, Isabela, INC Giving volunteers distributed free food and also did a cleanup drive for the area.

Elijah: The cleaning continued back in Balintawak, Camanava. Sun’s out! Brooms out!

Elijah: And at BF Resort Village, Metro Manila South INC Giving volunteers gathered for a blood donation drive. Jhossa Baes Dela Peña posted, “Be someone’s lifeline; donate blood.”

Elijah: Well, they heard you all the way in Scarborough, Canada, where INC Giving volunteers donated blood.

Elijah: And volunteers out west in Lethbridge, Alberta shared the same spirit. Canadian Blood Services posted this on their page: “Donating blood or plasma as a group is a great way to make all the difference in your community. Thank you to the Lethbridge chapter of Church Of Christ for donating plasma together earlier this spring. Your donations will go on to support patients and their families.”

Elijah: And finally, we end this recap over in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. A clip from the national news on EMTV Online featured the cleanup drive.

News Broadcast: More than 30 members of the church, with their family and friends, armed with gloves and trash bags, formed a line towards APEC House and picked up any rubbish that was washed ashore and rubbish left behind on the beach.

Pablo De Guia: And we call it the INC Giving. As you can see on our shirts, this is a initiative of our Church. This is our time to give to our environment, our responsibility to clean it for our future generation.

Elijah: Job well done to those INC Giving volunteers. It was amazing to see the bright smiles of all the people who joined your efforts to beautify the beach.

Elijah: Kindness is contagious! We’d love to hear all about your INC Giving activities. Keep those photos and videos coming in and find yourself in the next INC Giving recap.

Elijah: Don’t forget to visit incgiving.org for tools and tips to rewatch all the weekly recaps and vlogs. And remember, whenever you possibly can, do good to those who need it. See you guys next week. Bye.
