Brother Tyler Worthen: In Japan, the rapid growth of the true faith continues as three properties are acquired by the Church Of Christ in Chiryu City, Kurashiki City and Tokyo. Brother Michael Guerrero has that report.
VO: In well known and central cities in Japan. Three large buildings were recently purchased by the Iglesia Ni Cristo to accommodate the rapidly growing number of members in the country. On National Road in Chiryu City is the building for members of the local congregation of Kariya.
Turn over ceremony: We are giving the key and contract to the Church Of Christ.
VO: Along the main road of Mizushima in Kurashiki City, is the building for the Okayama congregation.
Turn over ceremony: For this building here in Mizushima, the key and the contract is given to the Church Of Christ.
VO: The largest of the new Iglesia Ni Cristo properties is located in Nerima, one of the busiest areas in Tokyo, the capital of Japan.
Turn over ceremony: This is the contract and key for this property, so we will hand it over to you.
Masafumi Narita: This is a good place and it is big.
Funari Nishimura: It is bigger than before, so more people will benefit from it.
Raymond Frank: Overall, I think the locations and they’re all in very prominent and very busy areas.
VO: No matter the location, these buildings will be made suitable for worship services which provide members with added inspiration to continue in serving the Lord God faithfully.
Maribeth Abagon: It gave me goosebumps and I said, “Wow, this is beautiful.”
Anabel Corsino: Our hearts were filled with joy. The acquisition of new properties shows that the Church Of Christ continues to expand throughout Japan.
VO: Over the past 16 years, under the leadership of Brother Eduardo V. Manalo, as Executive Minister, the Iglesia Ni Cristo has achieved numerous successes worldwide. Large projects seen happening one after the other here in Japan are part of that parade of success for the Church Of Christ.
Brother Manny Benedicto: During the recent pastoral visit led by our beloved
Executive Minister Brother Eduardo Manalo, on August 10th of this year, joyfully noted the continued acquisition of properties, not only globally but also here in Japan. And it’s pleasing that there are a lot of newly acquired properties.
VO: Currently, there are more than 80 established local congregations and places of worship of the Church Of Christ here in Japan. And so that worship gatherings can be conducted in a proper and orderly manner, once again, more properties have been purchased, like this three story building in Yokoyama, which will serve members even more in their services to God.
Brother Rafael De Mesa: The former religion that previously rented when the pandemic came, some of their members returned to their home country. And for others, or many actually, stopped in their religious services leading to that property not being used anymore. It was noticed by the owners of this place that the Church Of Christ, even with the ongoing pandemic, never ceased in their worship and services to the Lord God. They even saw the Church growing in number. That’s why they thought it was in their best interest to sell the property to the Church Of Christ.
Sahlee Angana: This would be a way for more people to discover and know more about the Church Of Christ.
Albert Pablo: Before, it was just all a dream to have a more suitable and permanent house of worship for us, but now we really can’t believe that our local congregation now has a large and suitable place of worship.
Raymond Frank: The renovation designs for these chapels when we have these kinds of buildings that are very distinct and unique in their existing form, we can’t do too much. We have to sometimes less is more when we do these types of renovations. So we’ll implement what we can to make it more suitable and recognizable as a house of worship.
Brother Emil Jensen: The local congregation of Kariya grew out of the local congregation of Nagoya in 2013. Since then, we rented different places in continuing to hold our worship services to our Lord God. But, now we have this purchased property that will become our permanent house of worship. The property purchased by the Church Of Christ is located on the corner lot of National Road.
Michael Mendoza: It is just now we are seeing the interior of the building and we are so amazed on how big and beautiful this building has been given by the Lord God through the Church Administration.
VO: The largest worship building purchased among the others here in Japan by the Church of Christ is in its own capital, Tokyo. Purchased while coinciding the 15th anniversary since the establishment of the district of Tokyo. All the more reason they gave thanks to the Almighty God as part of their celebration. Along this busy road in Tokyo’s Nerima ward, it’s not hard to notice this five story structure, now owned by the Church Of Christ.
Cielito Narita: The current place we use for worship services is too small to accommodate the growing number of members. It’s a dream come true.
VO: While awaiting the time that these new properties of the Church Of Christ would undergo renovations, members were united in the upkeep of these new properties. The planned renovations of these three new properties are part of the Church Of Christ’s ongoing projects, not only here in Japan, but worldwide.
Brother Michael Guerrero: I’m here in the City of Chiryu at one of three newly purchased buildings of the Iglesia Ni Cristo. This would be intended to be a place of house of worship for the local congregation of Kariya. Today is the day the brethren have been able to enter this place for the very first time.
