“Care for Humanity” Held in 26 locations by the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ)
May 14, 2025 (SAN FRANCISCO, California) – Across the United States on Saturday, May 10, in 26 different locations, the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ), in partnership with the Felix Y. Manalo Foundation, held simultaneous Care for Humanity events to benefit community members and to commemorate the 139th birth anniversary of God’s Messenger in these last days, Brother Felix Y. Manalo.
The events were a cross-section and reflection of each community’s needs. Each location distributed care packages of grocery items while additionally, others provided targeted relief: reading glass assessments, blood sugar monitoring, a free hot meal, BMI counseling, and more.
From Los Angeles, California, to Kodiak, Alaska, and from Ewa Beach, Hawaii to Humble, Texas, each of more than two dozen locations were united in their aim of community connection and brotherhood, providing attendees a day to relax, enjoy themselves with free music and live performances, and meet more people in their area.
“Look at the groceries, they feed the homeless and the hungry. And it’s amazing. They walk the walk,” stated Todd Pirochta who attended the event held at the Vallejo Waterfront hosted by the Districts of Silicon Valley, California and Northeast California.
United in the same event in Anchorage, Alaska, a community member named Jeremy said, “I don’t think there’s any better way to give to the community than with food. There’s three needs in life: shelter, food and water. You guys are offering two of the three today.”
The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) remains hopeful that the assistance provided through these events will strengthen communities across the nation in times of economic uncertainty. But more importantly, the INC believes it continues to uphold God’s command to treat our fellowmen with care and dignity, and to do good to those who need it most.
The Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) maintains multiple socio-civic platforms internationally. The “Care For Humanity” is a cultural bridge between communities and the Church. Additionally, the Felix Y. Manalo Foundation is a socio-civic platform of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ). The Care For Humanity event series has toured Canada, the United States, and India, serving tens of thousands and assisting nearly 100 local organizations over recent years. Other current projects include eco-farming projects in Africa and the distribution of basic supplies to residents of favelas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Volunteers also offer relief aid in the aftermath of natural calamities, such as the volcanic eruption in the Philippines, the hurricane aftermath in the Bahamas, and other disaster-stricken areas.
