Good Things Come From Animal Shelter Donations & Adopting a Street
Elijah: What time is it? That’s right! It’s time for another INC Giving recap! From cleanups to sharing some kindness through some free food and snacks, we hope that there’s something here for you to take away, and maybe do your own little INC Giving activity.
Elijah: Starting off with this awesome group of INC Giving volunteers in Cambodia who gathered together to share some pizza with their friends and guests. And check it out, free load for their mobile phones. You know, I looked it up and ‘free load’ means free credits to use their cell phones. You know, that’s a great idea to give away.
Elijah: Next stop is in Georgia, teaming up with the Keep Golden Isles Beautiful organization, the INC Giving Volunteers help to clean up along the South Brunswick River bridge. An act of kindness that will hopefully lead to more cleanups with the Golden Isles organization in the future.
Elijah: No bridges to clean? How about adopting a city street instead? These volunteers from Charlotte decided that they would adopt a city street and that’s no small task. The volunteers have committed to cleaning their adopted street four times a year for a minimum of two years. Let’s go Charlotte!
Elijah: Up next, we’re showing some appreciation to Queensland, Australia, where our friend Alvin, invited the choir to sing some songs for the seniors at Hillview Aged Care in Merrimac. Look at those smiles!
Elijah: You know what really puts a smile on my face? My dog Jeff! Which is why this story really makes me smile. These volunteers had a fundraiser for the Henderson Animal Shelter in Nevada. And per the staff at the shelter, “And boy did they deliver…” food, beds, toys, treats and collars. They even brought some treats for the shelter staff. Okay, who’s going to volunteer with me at the shelter? Anyone? Anyone? Message me.
Elijah: Okay, let’s get back on track. Free massages? Now, that’s a yes for me! Check out these volunteers from Batangas North who gave out free massages, free haircuts and coffee to people in their community. Looking good you guys.
Elijah: From free coffee to free soup and, you guessed it, dish soap! You know, those essentials are called essential for a reason. Free dishwashing liquid for anyone that needs it, that’s a win.
Elijah: Next, we’ve got a few cleanups lined up! In North Carolina, cleaning up the park makes for a great family bonding activity. It’s literally the perfect activity for the whole family.
Elijah: Cleanup drives build character. Check out these INC Giving Volunteers in Los Angeles who didn’t let a little rain stop them from heading out to the beach to pick up the trash. They made the beach a little bit nicer for the next time the sun comes out here in sunny California.
Elijah: And wouldn’t you know it, when the sun came out in Los Angeles, what did our volunteers do? Well, some of them also decided to clean up one of the neighborhoods in the heart of L.A., sweeping sidewalks and clearing tree and bush clippings to keep the surroundings looking nice and beautiful.
Elijah: Over in Rexdale, Toronto, Canada. It was a day of appreciation for seniors and staff. Everyone was welcome to help themselves to some free coffee and timbits, which are actually donut holes and very delicious.
Elijah: Back in Australia, we’re cleaning up weeds, plants and a whole lot of leaves. Whoa! Did you guys see that pile of leaves? Keep it going, Sydney! With a team of volunteers that big, they were probably done in no time!
Elijah: Spain joined the cleaning efforts and gathered at a park to pick up trash, leaves and anything else that needed to be tossed to help keep the park looking nice and neat. I hope to see Spain someday.
Elijah: Let’s see what’s happening in Quezon City. Okay, now that’s cool! At Pan Daily Coffee Shop, they were offering free coffee to people passing by their shop. That’s so sweet! Good morning! Would you like a free cup of coffee? I mean, hearing those words would definitely brighten up my day.
Elijah: Our final honorable mention for the day is for San Miguel, Bulacan, Philippines. These INC Giving Volunteers went around their community and gave out free sopas and bottled water. It’s like one big family!
Elijah: You know, friends, it’s not hard to join in on the INC Giving Project. Do it on your own, in small groups, or with your friends and family. There’s so many ways to show kindness and to do good to those who need it.
Elijah: Don’t forget to visit incgiving.org for tools and tips and to rewatch all the weekly recaps and vlogs. See you guys next week! Bye.
