Christian Media: Where Truth Meets You

Caring For Our Community

Even in Seattle, Washington, poverty and violence can be found on the streets. To many residents, finding a safe community means a lot. So bringing people together is what INC Giving volunteers from across the state of Washington aimed to do through the INC Media Experience.

Alice Bloodsaw- Seattle, Washington Resident- Guest

Alice Bloodsaw: Everybody has such a big smile. I love that. I love that and I love people so it was wonderful to look around and to see everybody having so much fun, the children and everybody pitching in together and everybody smiling and just having a wonderful time and that, by itself, is just gracious.

Michael Hudson- Event Organizer

Michael Hudson: Today’s event is called the INCMX Seattle, and what that stands for is the Iglesia Ni Cristo Media Experience and what it is, the main objective, is to really reach out to the community, people of all ages and really introduce them to a lot of the free services that we have such as games and live TV show tapings (Face the Truth, That’s in the Bible, and Time to Draw Live), free health check ups and haircuts and things like that. It’s just to really reach out to the community and show that we exist.

There’s a huge need to take care of people nowadays and it’s up to everybody to make sure they contribute to that on a regular basis.

Jermaine Williams- Seattle, Washington Resident- Volunteer Barber

Jermaine Williams: To see them get this free haircut and look in the mirror and they’re happy with it, it means a lot to me.

Amalia Gonzalez: It’s really clear to me that the people that I’m seeing here, that are the volunteers are working at creating a sense of community…it’s nice to see young people feeling safe and welcomed and I feel safe and welcomed and its wonderful.

Michael Hudson- Event Organizer

Michael Hudson: I think it’s our obligation to always do good, especially for the ones who need it, and I think us reaching out to the community and providing these services and just letting them know that we exist and that we’re here to help them, it’s very, it’s amazing and I’m very happy to be a part of it.

Alice Bloodsaw- Seattle, Washington Resident- Guest

Alice Bloodsaw: Meeting everybody, different nationality and everybody coming together and I think that’s just wonderful. It’s really wonderful. It beats, to me it beats the food, it beats the prizes, it beats everything and everybody opened arms to us, even though they didn’t know us, they treated us like family and so being treated like family is like being in your home and so I think it was wonderful and especially my friend here, she invited me and is just like my sister, because I love her to death, to death and I love her and I want to say thank you for inviting me and my family and if I had time I would have brought some more. It’s gracious and we love it.
