Presentadora: La Iglesia De Cristo ha echado raíces en México, Brasil, Chile, la República Dominicana y recientemente, Ecuador. Ahora, en la ciudad de Bogotá, un servicio de adoración inaugural se presentó en la Iglesia De Cristo en Colombia. Echemos un vistazo a esta historia que comenzó como un encuentro casual.
Presentador: ¿Con qué frecuencia un encuentro casual cambia tu vida? ¿Qué hace que un viaje valga la pena tomar esa oportunidad?
Milton Chaparro: Era algo que como se dice por acá en Colombia que no es coincidencia sino que “diosidencia.”
Presentador: Después de una reunión casual con un ministro durante sus vacaciones en San Francisco, Milton Chaparro y su familia esperaban que la Iglesia De Cristo viniera a Colombia.
Milton: Es algo que no hay como explicarlo…
Hermano Juan Fisher: Francamente fue algo inexplicable, es algo extraordinario…
Presentador: Bogotá, la capital del país, alberga a más de ocho millones de personas muchas de ellas enraizadas en una fe católica tradicional. Para el hermano Juan Fisher, un ministro de la Iglesia De Cristo, era un mundo completamente nuevo.
Hermano Juan: …Todo lo que estamos haciendo es mediante la fe…
Presentador: Después de establecer lugares de servicio de adoración en varios países sudamericanos, como Ecuador, Brasil y Chile, la Iglesia De Cristo ahora está avanzando hacia Colombia.
Hermano Juan: Pero no teníamos ni una idea al haber llegado que el Señor nos iba a mostrar a quien, con quien hablar, a quien invitar, y quienes iban a botar, pero esos son los que han estado en la asistencia [a nuestro servicio de adoración inaugural que hemos hecho aquí en Bogotá.]
Milton: Nosotros venimos del municipio de Barichara, Santander, Colombia. Está ubicado en vehículo a seis horas por tierra desde acá Bogotá hasta Barichara.
Presentador: Barichara es una ciudad que atrae a personas de todo el mundo por sus pintorescas vistas de senderismo y las antiguas estructuras católicas que sirven como recordatorios del pasado colonial del país.Pero los residentes de Barichara estaban a punto de escuchar algo nuevo.
Hermano Juan: …por la cual se están acercando tanta gente con el deseo de escuchar porque tienen sed de la palabra, tienen hambre.
Maria Morales: Porque el hermano Juan me va hecho lo estudio bíblico y ya ha ido cuatro veces a mi casa y yo bien recibido. Sí, yo estoy contenta y feliz.
Gloria: Siempre buscamos de Dios y siempre buscamos obviamente enfocarnos en que nuestra familia y obviamente acercarlos a la palabra de Dios para beneficio de todos, de nuestra familia y de todos los que nos rodean.
Presentador: La familia Chaparro también sintió la necesidad de asistir a este servicio de adoración inaugural en Bogotá donde sintió el impacto de la verdadera forma de servir a Dios.
Milton: Bueno nosotros lo hemos notado porque igual venimos de digamos, el catolicismo, conocimos de Cristo también en iglesias cristianas y ahora lo que notamos en la diferencia de la Iglesia De Cristo es que primero lo que corresponde al orden me parece algo muy sublime.
Podemos tener ese silencio donde nosotros podemos entregar nuestras cosas a Dios.
Hay una conexión con Dios.
Presentador: No fue solo la solemnidad del servicio lo que impresionó a los Chaparros,
sino también la simplicidad del mensaje.
Milton: Hemos notado es que se hable netamente de lo que dice en la Biblia, la palabra. Que no es por emociones de quien está dirigiendo el culto [servicio de adoración] sino que se basan netamente en la palabra eso para mí es algo que da credibilidad y corresponde a lo que es la reverencia a nuestro Padre, Dios, eso es importante para mí.
Presentador: La familia Chaparro ahora son estudiantes de la Biblia, agradecidos a Dios por un encuentro fatídico.
Milton: Fue una situación que Dios nos presentó a través de un ministro… fue un privilegio conocer de la Iglesia De Cristo en algo que no esperábamos… pues qué más respuesta de parte de Dios a nosotros como familia de estar en este momento tan especial tanto como para la Iglesia como para nosotros como familia y como hijos de Dios de que estemos en sus pensamientos que estamos participando de ellos para mí y para mi familia, de verdad que muy agradecidos con Dios.
Presentador: Y para el hermano Juan, ser parte de la misión en Colombia solo ha servido para fortalecer su propia fe en Dios.
Hermano Juan: Pero una persona yo me imaginaría que si lo mandaran a un país donde no conocen a nadie, donde no sabemos donde nos vamos a quedar, donde no sabemos … lo único que sabemos es que Dios no va a desamparar a Sus siervos.
Presentadora: Todos estamos muy entusiasmados con los nuevos estudiantes de la Biblia. La hermandad y la Iglesia continúa creciendo en Colombia y les deseamos a todos lo mejor.

Presentadora: Un ayuda a la humanidad tuvo lugar en la ciudad de Guatemala. Los miembros de la Iglesia De Cristo proporcionaron despensas a los visitantes y presentaron las palabras de Dios en una misión evangélica.
Y en Perú había otro servicio de adoración inaugural:
Karina Wayta Lopez: Yo Bueno me siento ahora muy feliz, contenta, No sé cómo explicar este sentimiento, pero sé que es profundo amor ahora siento. Sabe que mi paíz lo necesita, sabe que mi paíz necesita la verdad, de la palabra, porque si bien es cierto también hay muchas Iglesias pero falta mas.

The Church Of Christ has taken root in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, the Dominican Republic and recently, Ecuador. Now, in the city of Bogotá, an inaugural worship service took place at the Church Of Christ in Colombia. Let’s take a look at this story that began as a casual encounter.
Male Presenter (Voiceover): How often does a chance encounter change your life? What makes a journey worth taking that chance?
Milton Chaparro: It was something, as we say here in Colombia, that is not a coincidence but “God-sidence.”
Male Presenter (Voiceover): After a chance meeting with a minister during their San Francisco vacation, Milton Chaparro and his family hoped that the Church Of Christ would come to Colombia.
Milton: “It’s something unexplainable…”
Brother Juan Fisher: Honestly it was something inexplicable, something extraordinary.
Male Presenter (Voiceover): Bogotá, the country’s capital, is home to over eight million people, many of them rooted in a traditional Catholic faith. For Brother Juan Fisher, a minister in the Church Of Christ, it was a whole new world.
Brother Juan: Because everything we do is through faith…
Male Presenter (Voiceover): After establishing worship service locations in several South American countries, including Ecuador, Brazil and Chile, the Church Of Christ is now making headway into Colombia.
Brother Juan: We had no idea when we arrived whom the Lord would show us, whom to talk with, whom to invite, and those whom they would bring, but those are the ones who attended our inaugural worship service held here in Bogota.
Milton: We’re from the municipality of Barichara, Santander, Colombia that is located by car about six hours away from Bogotá to Barichara.
Male Presenter (Voiceover): Barichara is a town that draws people from all over the world for its picturesque hiking vistas and aging Catholic structures that serve as living reminders of the country’s colonial past.
But the residents of Barichara were about to hear something new.
Brother Juan: So many are drawing near to us with the desire to listen because they are thirsty for the word, they are hungry.
Maria Morales: Brother Juan has done Bible studies and has gone four times to my house. I welcome him. Yes, I’m happy.
Gloria: We are always looking for God and we always seek to focus on our family and obviously bring them closer to God’s Word for the benefit of all, of our family and of all those around us.
Male Presenter (Voiceover): The Chaparro family also felt the need to attend this inaugural worship service in Bogotá where they felt the impact of the true way of serving God.
Milton: Well, we noticed because we come from say, Catholicism, we also met Christ in ‘christian’ churches and now, what we notice, the difference of the Church of Christ is that first, what corresponds to the order, I find that it is something very sublime.
We can have that silence where we can leave our concerns to God.
There is a connection with God.
Male Presenter (Voiceover): It wasn’t just the solemnity of the service that struck the Chaparros, but even the simplicity of the message.
Milton: We have noticed that he speaks clearly of what is said in the Bible, the word. That it is not because of the emotions of the one who is directing the service, but that they are based purely on the word; that, for me, is something that gives credibility and corresponds to reverence to our Father, God, that is important for me.
Male Presenter (Voiceover): The Chaparro family are now Bible students, thankful to God for a fateful encounter.
Milton: It was a situation that God presented to us through a minister…
It was a privilege for us to know about the Church Of Christ in a way we did not expect. The more we consider it as an answer from God to us as a family to be in this special moment, both for the Church and for us as well as a family and as children of God that we are in His thoughts, being part of them. For me and my family, we are really grateful to God.
Male Presenter (Voiceover): And for Brother Juan, his mission in Colombia has only served to strengthen his own faith in God..
Brother Juan: But I would imagine that if a person were to be sent to a country where he does not know anyone, where we don’t know where we are going to stay, where we do not know…the only thing we know is that God will not forsake His servants.
Presenter: We are all very excited about the new Bible students. The brotherhood and the Church continue to grow in Colombia, and we wish them all the best.

Roselia Rodriguez Paniagua: We need more people who come here for the purpose of speaking to the people of God. Because in this world where we are, we need the truth. Or we need daily education. We need that spiritual nourishment.
Presenter: An Aid to Humanity event took place in Guatemala City. Members of the Church Of Christ provided visitors with goods and presented God’s words in an evangelical mission.
And in Peru there was another inaugural worship service:
Karina Wayta Lopez: Right now, I feel very happy, glad. I don’t know how to explain this feeling, but I know that it is profound love that I feel now. He [God] knows that my country needs Him. He knows that my country is in need of the truth, of the word [of God], because even if it’s true that there are many churches, but there’s something missing.
