Free Literacy and Art Workshop & School Supplies for Children

Elijah: Hey everyone! I’d like to start off by saying, Happy Anniversary to the INC Giving Project! Since 2011, it’s been 13 years of sharing acts of kindness, and I’m so proud to be part of the collective impact. What better way to look forward to the future of the INC Giving Project than by jumping right into another INC Giving recap? We’re going to do quite a bit of traveling on this episode, so…

Elijah: Oh come on, come. Buckle up.

Elijah: Have you ever traveled by tricycle? This kind of tricycle. It’s a motorcycle with a

passenger cab attached to it. You see them all over the Philippines, transporting up to 3 to 4 passengers at a time. In Iba Meycauayan, Bulacan, tricycle drivers found a way to uplift people by giving them a lift—for free!

Elijah: And check out those awesome INC Giving banners on their tricycles. You love to see it! You know, so many people work so hard and sometimes we just need to be off our feet. Thank you for working hard to do good to those who need it.

Elijah: Now our next stop is in Rome, Italy. These volunteers help provide free ECG screenings and took part in a blood drive to address a critical shortage of blood.

Elijah: Now heading over to Calgary, Canada, volunteers in Forest Heights also rolled up their sleeves. Now if you’re able to, consider donating blood at a clinic near you. As the Canadian Blood Services say, “It’s in you to give!”

INC Giving Volunteers: INC Giving!

Elijah: And heading east to Saint John, Brunswick, INC Giving Volunteers spent some quality time with the elderly through a seniors appreciation activity.

Elijah: In Namunga, Batangas, INC Giving Volunteers provided free medical and dental services.

Elijah: Now continuing on with our health theme, what better way to express the warmth of our hearts than with…warmth?!

Elijah: In Alameda, California, volunteers gifted free blankets and socks for the patients at Alameda Hospital.

Elijah: For our next set of INC Giving activities, volunteers handed out gifts and free toys.

Elijah: In Santiago Norte, recipients were differently abled children. Their teachers, who do important work in the field of inclusive education, were also recognized by INC Giving Volunteers.

Elijah: Fun and play is such an important part of a child’s development and getting a new toy—it is always going to put a smile on a child’s face. Here are some happy kids receiving free toys in Catmon, Bulacan.

Elijah: And more happy kids in Angeles, Pampanga! Wow! Did you guys notice that? The local congregation of Friendship! What a nice place for an INC Giving activity. That was so cool!

Elijah: Do you guys remember your favorite toy as a kid? I love playing with different building blocks. Build them up and break them down. Play with them.

Elijah: Over in Kent, Washington, INC Giving Volunteers donated school supplies. The Kent School District had this to say: “Panther Lake Elementary School was the recipient of a thoughtful contribution of school supplies from the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in Kent.

Elijah: Their visit to their school included the delivery of 10 boxes filled with essential supplies for our students. Panther Lake is deeply thankful for the dedication shown by the Church in organizing this donation.”

Elijah: Our next stop features an impressive community cleanup effort by volunteers in Norfolk, Virginia. A community organization called ‘Keep Norfolk Beautiful,’ recognized these INC Giving Volunteers!

Elijah: This is what they posted: “Thanks to Marie-Santos-Nacman for getting this massive group onto our streets. 86 volunteers joined together and braved the cold to remove 152 pounds of litter from our community. Talk about impressive! Think you can do the same?”

Elijah: Well, it looks like they did just that in La Union, Philippines! 750 volunteers joined forces for a coastal cleanup at Poro Point Baywalk, clearing and cutting grass.

Elijah: In a social media post, Poro Point Management Corporation expressed the following: “Heartfelt appreciation to all the INC Giving Volunteers for their unwavering dedication to community service. Their collective efforts underscore the transformative power of united action.”

Elijah: So amazing to see INC Giving Volunteers around the world taking to the streets to clean up litter and beautify the environment. Keep your stories coming!

Elijah: Now check this out—on Boracay Island, which you might have associated with the beautiful beaches, of course—volunteers offered something really cool! A Literacy and Art Workshop. What a great way to give back to the community, offering people a chance to learn and create.

Elijah: Do you guys have any writing or artistic talents that you can share? Let us know!

Elijah: Now lastly, in Paris, with the Eiffel Tower as their backdrop, INC Giving Volunteers gave out free food at a picnic.

Elijah: You know, I really love picnics. Maybe we should have one too, to celebrate INC Giving’s Anniversary! Happy anniversary everyone!

Elijah: Don’t forget to submit your stories at incgiving.org. You’ll also find tools and updates there, and catch up on any weekly recaps that you may have missed!

Elijah: And remember, whenever you possibly can, do good to those who need it. Catch you guys next week! Bye.
