Christian Media: Where Truth Meets You

Caring for Future Generations

On a recent trip to the Philippines for a leadership conference and meeting fellow members of the KADIWA organization, young member Hannah Limon saw the vast scope of the Church Of Christ around the world and her place in it. She reflects on how the leadership of Brother Eduardo V. Manalo inspires her to care and lead the youth in her region.

Hannah Limon: Dearest Brother, words cannot describe my personal experience at the Kadiwa Leaders Conference 2023 in the Philippines.

Maraming salamat po (Thank you very much) for all the love and care you show to the youth of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ).

I am registered in  the Local Congregation of Chula Vista in the Ecclesiastical District of San Diego County, California.

Hannah: I am currently an adult choir member and organist trainee, a Children’s Worship Service teacher, a district multimedia and INC Radio member and a volunteer talent with INC Media Services, as well as the current district KADIWA (youth group) president of the Ecclesiastical District of San Diego County, California

I began performing this duty in November 2022 and took my oath of office on February 9, 2023. Seeing how much my life has changed since I was recommended, has been a tremendous blessing in my life, and I cannot thank you enough that I have this opportunity to redouble my efforts to serve the KADIWA (youth group) brethren and unite with our district.

Hannah: I enjoyed my conversations and exchanges of knowledge with the other district KADIWA (youth group) presidents and officers. We all learned that we share the same challenges and struggles that we face as we lead the brethren under our care.

I also learned from well-experienced officers, who shared with me uplifting advice. I learned what it meant to be a leader in the Church Of Christ, as supported by the words of God and how we must continue this work by training future leaders in the KADIWA (youth group) organization.

I still recall two special moments when we visited the INC Museum on the first day we arrived in the Philippines. I remember one particular exhibit where we were inside a bahay kubo or hut, and a TV screen was inside. The audio played a recording of Brother Felix Y. Manalo, and I remember a part where he specifically addressed the women in the Church.

It comforted me that even if I never met [Brother] Felix personally, he took into consideration the Church’s future, which also includes us future leaders in our organizations.

Towards the end of the tour, where it reflected on the recent victories of the Church, there was a worldwide map of all the ecclesiastical districts. The map also had numerous light bulbs in each country and territory, and a live counter was in one of the corners. I looked at the number of ecclesiastical districts at the time, and it dawned upon me that if there were that many districts displayed, then that meant I was one of the hundreds who are representing our districts as district KADIWA (youth group) presidents.

Seeing a visual of that map solidified in me the gravity of this duty and how thankful I am to have been chosen to lead in my district.

Although I have not known you directly, I can see how much you hold yourself up in your leadership for all members worldwide.

I learn what it means to be humble while I perform and support the brethren’s needs.

Hannah: With these changes in my life, I learned that I have nothing to fear because our God is always by our side, even while I am awaiting the answers to my prayers,

I have learned from your leadership what it means to have true patience in God’s will.

Thank you so much for your leadership in the Church.

Your sister in Christ, Hannah P. Limon
