Christian Media: Where Truth Meets You

Appreciating Senior Citizens & Free Care Pkgs

There are many members of our community who can benefit from an act of kindness. It can be a food and clothing drive, spending time with our senior citizens or even sharing free care packages for the homeless that make a lasting impact. Taylor Joy takes us through this week’s INC Giving recap.

Appreciating Senior Citizens & Free Care Packages for Those in Need

Taylor Joy: Is today Friday? It is. Can you believe it’s INC Giving weekly recap time once again?

Taylor Joy: We’re going to jump right into this week’s recap full of amazing projects shared by all of you. Yes, you! Our awesome INC Giving volunteers from around the world.

Taylor Joy: Now, this young lady proves that giving back to the community does not have to be on a grand scale or with a huge group of volunteers sharing donuts with anyone she came across. This little army of one hoped that her sweet gesture would bring smiles to the streets of her neighborhood. I’d say mission accomplished.

Taylor Joy: And it’s so inspiring to see such concern and compassion in someone so young. Bravo!

Taylor Joy: Now, over in Sault Sainte Marie, the Soup Kitchen Community Centre thanked the INC Giving Project volunteers for holding a clothing drive and food bank donation. And just look at all of those boxes of goods that will help the community in Canada.

Taylor Joy:

Paris, the city of lights and the Eiffel Tower. But sadly, it also has residents who have fallen on hard times.

Taylor Joy: These volunteers from Bastille wanted to reach out with an act of kindness and handed out care packages to anyone in need.

Taylor Joy: Teachers, the unsung heroes of our society, continue to ignite the passion for learning in our children. This important group was recognized in a Teacher’s Appreciation in North York, Ontario, Canada.

Teacher #1: Thank you.

Teacher #2: Thank you.

Teacher #3: Thank you.

INC Giving Volunteer: You are truly appreciated.

Taylor Joy: Maybe give your teacher a quick thank you when you see them today. I’m sure it would really make their day.

Taylor Joy: This time going west in Canada, we’ve got an elderly appreciation in Saint Albert, Alberta.

Taylor Joy: INC Giving volunteers visited Ironwood Retirement Residence to share some snacks, songs, flowers and most importantly, smiles with the residents.

Taylor Joy: Now over 9000km away in Athens, Greece, the residents at the Elderly Home Center in Koropi were given flowers, cards, chocolates and treated to musical entertainment. And I think these thoughtful gestures of care and affection were very much appreciated. I can just feel the love.

Taylor Joy: Next up, we’ve got some blood donation drives. Here’s one in Hamilton, New Zealand. Wow. These are some of the happiest and smiliest donors I have ever seen.

Taylor Joy: And in North Shields, England, volunteers also rolled up their sleeves to give blood.

Taylor Joy: And over in British Columbia, these blood donors, including some first time donors, helped to replenish the supply of the Canadian Blood Services. Way to save lives volunteers!

Taylor Joy: These next few INC Giving projects all happened in the Philippines.

Taylor Joy: Heading over to Meycauayan Philippines, do you see all of those free toys that were given to children in that community? This one truly warms my heart because I’d hate to think of any child not having toys to play with.

Community Member: Thank you

Community Member: Thank you very much!

Taylor Joy: And you can just feel the gratitude of the residents in Barangay Ilayang Polo for the little care packages that they received. It’s a great reminder that one small deed can have the biggest impact.

Taylor Joy: And did you catch that little volunteer sporting the teeny tiny iron INC Giving shirt? It’s amazing seeing that he’s already learning about giving back.

Taylor Joy: And this incredible turnout in Caloocan City just shows how many people need free medical and dental services. In addition to the free medical checks, other booths offered free haircuts. Now that’s what I call full service.

Taylor Joy: If I was able to start off my day with free coffee and sandwiches, how could I not have a fantastic day?

Taylor Joy: And I’m hoping that was the case for all of the tricycle drivers, commuters and neighbors from San Ysidro in Pampanga East. Oh. Those cups of coffee. I’d grab two.

Taylor Joy: In Barangay Tulay Na Lupa, free lugaw or rice porridge and clothing were given out to the community. That’s a LOT of lugaw lined up. And yes, I will happily take one please.

Taylor Joy: This time, in Dapa, Siargao Island, free coffee and pandesal (a tasty bread roll) were shared with residents and neighbors. I think those are some pretty happy recipients. Wouldn’t you say?

Taylor Joy: Now, coming at you are some cleanup drives, like here in Baguio City and

here in San Jose, Mindoro.

Taylor Joy: Also here in Cabanatuan City.

Taylor Joy: But now we’re heading back to British Columbia, Canada, to share a cleanup drive that was held in Parksville to tidy up the surroundings of the Parksville Community Centre. Hi there to our neighbors to the north!

Taylor Joy: At Figueretas Beach, these volunteers conducted a coastal cleanup to keep the environment picturesque and to preserve the beautiful views. Ooh, it did look a little bit chilly that day, but definitely still beautiful.

Taylor Joy: And we leave you today with a short message from one of the volunteers in Angeles City:

Francis Day: Hello! If you love volunteering, if you love giving, and if you love doing it with your family and your friends, do it through the INC Giving Project.

Taylor Joy: We hear you loud and clear, Francis!

Taylor Joy: Don’t forget to visit www.INCGIVING.ORG for tools and tips, and to rewatch all of the weekly recaps and vlogs.

Taylor Joy: Oh, and happy anniversary to the INC Giving Project! Let’s celebrate by finding more ways to give back to our communities. We can’t wait to see all of the acts of kindness in next week’s recap. Until then, bye everyone!
