Elijah: Hi everyone. Happy new year! Another week, another recap! We have a whole lineup of INC Giving activities that span the globe. Let’s see what our volunteers have been up to.
Elijah: We head to North London, where this group of smiling volunteers held an appreciation day for health care workers and nurses.
Elijah: With these awesome gift baskets in tow, loaded with coffee and some snacks. But not only that, they even set up a beauty salon for some quick pampering and even prepared some live entertainment.
Elijah: How sweet is that? And thank you to all of our nurses and healthcare workers.
Elijah: Who loves clean beaches? I know I do!
Elijah: Over in Zamboanga Del Sur. I think they had the same thought. So they headed to their local beach in Pagadian City to do just that.
Elijah: Look at this good looking group of volunteers. But what if you don’t live near a beach?
Elijah: In Agusan Del Sur, they helped clean up their river, folded up their pants and got to work. Check out this small but mighty group. Good job, team.
Elijah: Is it just me, or is it cold in here? I’ve got just the thing to warm us up. Free soup! And vegetables! And pandesal!
Elijah: Over in Buena Vista in Quezon City, they gave out all of this: Coconuts, papayas, the things you can cook with these veggies! Libreng gulay (free vegetables)! Ooh, sarap (delicious)!
Elijah: Okay, let’s move on before my stomach starts talking. Check out this tree planting at a municipal solid waste company.
Elijah: Okay, so the land is under the jurisdiction of the solid waste company. How cool!
250 seedlings planted by these amazing people while enduring strong gusts of wind and rain. Dedication. I love it!
Elijah: And even more trees were planted at Agoo Eco Park in La Union. Ang galing! (It’s great!) Keep up the good work, friends.
Elijah: This next story is just so heartwarming. In Jacksonville, North Carolina, our volunteers got together to bring some food, treats and kitty litter to an animal rescue.
Elijah: They were given a tour of this facility and got to see some of the pets that were working towards getting adopted. Lots of happy tail wags.
Elijah: For this life-saving effort, we head to Nagoya, Japan where they held a blood donation. Lots of happy smiles from our donors And thanks to the Japanese Red Cross Society for hosting our volunteers.
Elijah: The Local of Mabihin in Surigao Del Sur helped with a little coastal cleanup as well.
Elijah: Also in Surigao Del Sur, the Local of Tandag City had their own coastal cleanup on one of their beautiful beaches.
Elijah: Now this is one way to do a clothing donation—this volunteer packed his bag
full of pre-loved clothing and went around handing them out to anyone who needed it.
Elijah: Hashtag INC Giving.
Elijah: Ooh, more fuzzy friends! And who knew this would be on the list of an INC Giving activity to hold? An anti-rabies vaccination clinic for pets!
Elijah: It’s great to know that our pets can also get some TLC (tender, loving, care) from our volunteers. More happy tail wags.
Elijah: And we end our highlights of this week with some cleanup drives. One in a little place called Valenzuela City. What a cozy little town.
Elijah: And finally in Iloilo, a school cleanup drive at the Lanot Grande Integrated School. I love a good school cleanup drive. A great way to help those young minds get ready to learn.
Elijah: That’s all for our INC Giving recap today. And as you guys saw, there really
are endless ways that we can step up and help our communities.
Elijah: From clean up drives, blood donations, donating to animal shelters, or even grabbing some pre-loved clothing and heading out to see if there’s anyone that needs it to keep warm. Get creative!
Elijah: And remember whenever you possibly can, do good to those who need it.
Elijah: Bye friends!
