Ways To Help Students Feel Prepared

Join Taylor Joy as we learn how some INC Giving volunteers held a cleanup along the Mediterranean Sea, while others helped students feel prepared for school with a school supply donation. There are so many ways to give our time and effort. Learn more ways in this INC Giving recap.

Ways To Help Students Feel Prepared and Recognizing Heroes in Our Community

Taylor Joy: Hi everyone! Today’s the day to fill your INC Giving thought bubbles. Find your next way to give back. Will you need a broom or some trash bags? How about some free gifts like school supplies or free food? Well, join me for this week’s INC Giving recap and be inspired. Let’s go!

Taylor Joy: Okay, the coast is clear. Why? Oh, because INC Giving volunteers were putting in the work at their coastal cleanups. Our first stop is in southern Spain. Volunteers showed their love for Fuengirola! They dedicated time and energy to clean up the beach.

Taylor Joy: Next, we head over to Fair Oaks, California, where volunteers cleaned up the Sacramento Bar American River Parkway area.

Taylor Joy: And this coastal cleanup video was shared by our INC Giving volunteers in Roseville, California.

Taylor Joy: Now we make our way to the mountain state of Nevada. Volunteers from Las Vegas, Summerlin, Centennial Hills, and Blue Diamond cleaned up Gary Reese Freedom and Gardens Park.

Taylor Joy: And in Northern Plains, INC Giving volunteers gave it their all at their park cleanup drive. Thanks to their hard work, these communities are now cleaner and safer places for everyone to enjoy.

Taylor Joy: Special mention to our INC Giving volunteers in the Mediterranean. They cleared litter in parks, streets and coastal areas. The initiative was attended by government officials and recognized by the community. Way to go! Wonderful work to preserve the environment and spread kindness.  You know, it feels so good to share. Or in Tagalog, “Ang sarap sa pakiramdam mag share.”

Taylor Joy: “Sarap” can also mean delicious and nothing warms the soul like a delicious bowl of ‘lugaw’ or rice porridge shared by friendly neighbors. Thank you to our INC Giving volunteers in Fresno City, Philippines for handing out free lugaw and ‘tubig’ or water to the community.

Taylor Joy: So many bright colors in this long line of children eager to have a bright future. Thank you to our INC Giving volunteers in Masbate, Philippines for donating the school supplies to the students at the San Rafael Elementary School.

Taylor Joy: Similarly, volunteers handed out school supplies to students at San Augustine Elementary School in Parañaque, Philippines. Colored pencils, play clay, hand sanitizer, activity books, and more! Each piece will go a long way to help students feel prepared and supported.

Taylor Joy: It’s also priceless to save a life. So thank you to all of our INC Giving volunteers in Bulacan South,  Philippines who donated blood. Every single donation counts. And we’re so grateful to everyone who stepped up to help others in need.

Taylor Joy: And over in Zamboanga, Sibugay, Philippines, INC giving Volunteers organized a Firefighter Appreciation Day. To express love and gratitude for these heroes in their community, volunteers shared kind words and performed some musical numbers. They also gifted the firefighters with care packages of food. Great job everyone!

Taylor Joy: And thank you to our INC Giving Volunteers in London, England for doing your part. Make sure no one goes hungry. Our Notting Hill team prepared a generous food donation–boxes filled with essential items were gathered, packed and dropped off at the Delgarno Food Bank. It’s a gift that will provide many meals to families in need.

Taylor Joy: Awesome work! INC Giving volunteers are really cleaning up nicely this week. No really, they are cleaning up grills out in Davao del Norte today. I see your “walis tintings” there–you can’t hide these awesome brooms and you can’t hide your happiness either. These INC Giving volunteers are continuing the environmental conservation efforts

Taylor Joy: We are cleaning up in Italy as well. Volunteers in Genova held their coastal cleanup at Spiaggia della Foce and along the streets of Corso Italia. INC Giving volunteers picked up litter such as plastic bottles, plastic bags, soda cans, candy wrappers and more. Beautiful work to keep this beautiful area clean. What do they say in Italy? Bellissima!

Taylor Joy: To wrap up this week’s recap, a huge shout out to this family of INC Giving volunteers from Tracy, California. While most people on vacation just want to relax. They spent their time in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, sharing and creating joy. They gave out free ice cream and treats, free board games and free clothing. All free! But these memories–priceless. Super heartwarming to see.

Taylor Joy: We hope these stories of kindness and community left you feeling inspired and ready to spread a little good in your own way.

Taylor Joy: Let’s keep the kindness moving and remember whenever you possibly can, do good to those who need it. And don’t forget to visit incgiving.org to share your stories with us. You can also find ideas for your next INC Giving project and catch up on any recaps that you may have missed. Tune in next week for more amazing volunteer highlights.

Taylor Joy: See you then! Bye for now.
