Elijah: Hello, hello friends.
Elijah: We’re already nearing [the] end of September and we are back with another INC Giving recap! You know, every time we see your stories participating in the INC Giving Project, we can’t help but smile and be inspired by your simple acts of kindness.
Elijah: So keep sharing these stories and photos so that we can feature you on our next INC Giving recap. Let’s see where we’re off to today.
Elijah: We’re starting off with a cleanup drive at the Isabel National Comprehensive School in Leyte. This lovely group of volunteers even gave themselves a name, The INC Giving Brigada.
Elijah: And yes, I did look up what brigada means, it means a team or squad. You know, I want to be part of an INC Giving Brigada.
Elijah: Over in Benguet at the Gulon Child Development Center in La Trinidad. These volunteers showed up to help with a free meal program, a simple and heartfelt way to help these little barangays that can easily put a smile on someone’s face.
Elijah: You know, I love seeing posts about the INC Giving volunteers cleaning schools, like this school in Dasmarinas, Cavite.
Elijah: Ooh hold on, let me do a little mini tagalog time. Let me say this slowly, Paliparan International High School.
Elijah: They cleaned up the plants, hauled some debris and broken wood pieces. They even cleaned the little spaces around the school. And I think I spy a little walis ting ting! Happy learning to the Paliparan students.
Elijah: Okay, hold up—a farmers market? Check this out, INC Giving volunteers in the Washington D.C. area held a farmer’s market. They had a bunch of veggies, they even had ampalaya (bitter melon) and upo.
Elijah: Let’s head over to Jacksonville, North Carolina where you’ll never guess what these volunteers went to. It’s a wildlife shelter!
Elijah: Now, this group did it all. It takes a lot of effort to maintain a shelter. And not just for dogs and cats, but even for animals out in the wild.
Elijah: This particular shelter actually has a pelican pool, like a giant winged animal that can fit a huge fish in its mouth? Beak?
Elijah: Not sure. But look at them, cleaning the overgrown greenery, even busted out the weed whacker and they even helped to fix the chicken wire fencing to some of the enclosures.
Elijah: You know, it’s nice to know that even the wild animals that need help can be cared for too.
Elijah: Over in Nabunturan Davao de Oro, some students and teachers were given free school supplies by this generous group of volunteers.
Elijah: Next up, we are appreciating medical staff in Wellington, New Jersey. This was really sweet. They sang for them too, just listen to them.
INC Giving Volunteers: ♫ So you close your eyes and pray and to God you humbly say, “I am here, please draw near, show me the way.” ♫
Elijah: Great job to them, right? It takes a lot of courage to sing in front of people like that, but they did it to show their love for the medical team.
Elijah: Heading over to La Union Philippines, another huge group of INC Giving volunteers helped to make this a clean and beautiful place for their community to enjoy.
Elijah: Over in Hawai’i, Eliza here went all on her own to donate blood. See? She’s proof that you don’t have to be in a big group to participate in the INC Giving Project. Check your local blood banks and do what she did. We have another school cleanup.
Elijah: I feel another mini tagalog time coming, this time at the Kiloloron Elementary School in Real, Quezon. Another clean space for young minds to grow.
Elijah: Let’s keep on the theme with the cleanups people! In San Miguel, Bulacan, they held a cleanup drive and gave out free vegetable seedlings. This was in San Ildelfonso.
Elijah: And in Pampanga they gave out free coffee and pandesal to the residents
in Barangay Cuayan Bugtong, Candaba. They did this to serve their communities and promote environmental awareness and to do good whenever possible.
Elijah: In celebration of the Church Of Christ’s 110th Anniversary, the District of Cagayan West held a district-wide neighborhood appreciation day.
Elijah: The whole district gave out free pandesal and coffee to their neighbors to show their love and care for them.
Elijah: In Agusan Del Norte, this cleanup drive involves separating biodegradable and non-biodegradable trash so that it can be properly disposed of. Now that’s a lot of work and a lot of trash to go through.
Elijah: Good thing they got so many of their fellow INC Giving volunteers to come out and clean. Another amazing group of volunteers cleaning a beautiful neighborhood in Palawan.
Elijah: Our very last story today comes from Barangay Quipot, where these INC Giving volunteers continue their celebration of the INC’s (Iglesia Ni Cristo – Church Of Christ) 110th Anniversary and conducted a tree planting activity.
Elijah: That’s amazing, planting trees to beautify the barangay and take care of the environment.
Elijah: That was a pretty fun recap, if I do say so myself. And as you can see, being part of the INC Giving Project can be a big joint effort with your entire district or it can just be little o’ you donating blood to help save lives.
Elijah: No act of kindness is too small, especially when you’re helping those in need. You know, I really loved seeing some of the new activities in this recap.
Elijah: That farmers market? Hmm. Maybe we can suggest it for our district too. Hmm.
Elijah: Thanks for joining me again today. I’m Elijah and if you have an INC Giving project that you did with your friends, your family or even on your own, head over to incgiving.org to share your pictures and stories so that we can feature you on our next recap.
Elijah: But for now, thanks for watching and see you guys next time. Bye!
