Taylor Joy: What’s that sound? Is. Is that?…Oh, sorry. I think that was another week that just zoomed by. Oh! So you know what that means.
Taylor Joy: It’s time to recap more of the amazing INC Giving Projects you’ve all shared. Let’s go!
Taylor Joy: Before these tricycle drivers in Tandang Sora, Caloocan, Philippines zoomed off with their passengers, they were given some goodie bags.
Taylor Joy: Biscuits, coffee, and bottled water would definitely jumpstart and brighten anyone’s day. And if you’ve never seen a tricycle taxi before, it’s basically a driver on a motorcycle. And then there’s a little sidecar for the passenger. Have you ever ridden in one?
Taylor Joy: Next up, we’ve got free meals for this neighborhood in Batangas. Those pots of what appear to be champorado or chocolate rice porridge are huge. I think that’s definitely enough to feed the community. What a great way to spend time with your neighbors over a bowl of tasty goodness. Mmm.
Taylor Joy: Bringing another community together with warm cups of goodness. These children in Isabel, Leyte look like they enjoyed the soup that was prepared for them. Happy bellies and cheerful smiles.
Taylor Joy: In Norfolk, Virginia, gift bags were also handed out to the firefighters there to thank them for their service, and the children seemed so excited to meet some real life heroes.
Taylor Joy: Volunteers from the very young to the young at heart, filled the coastal city of Bayawan, ready to fill their trash bags with any debris and garbage they found. Any time we can keep litter from ending up in our oceans is a win.
Taylor Joy: More litter was cleared from the streets, grassy areas and even drainage canals by these happy cleaners in New Corella, Davao Del Norte. Thank you for caring for our environment.
Taylor Joy: Heading down to Tauranga, New Zealand, where volunteers there donned some gloves, grabbed their brooms and filled the garbage bags with trash in their beautiful community. If I ever make it to New Zealand, I’ll definitely join in on the next cleanup drive.
Taylor Joy: This next INC Giving Project in Caloocan, was more like a big community party with food, ice cream, games, free health checks and entertainment. More importantly, the students at Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School received some school supplies to help them with their education.
Taylor Joy: How could your heart not smile after witnessing all of this kindness?
Taylor Joy: Now check out these awesome garbage bins, dust pans, and brooms that were given to a school in Batangas City.
Taylor Joy: The Department of Education shared a short message of thanks for these contributions from the INC Giving volunteers to Wawa Elementary School.
Taylor Joy: Fun fact, those brooms are called ‘walis tingting’ and are a hot commodity here in North America.
Taylor Joy: Free dental supplies were handed out to the children at Manila Daycare Center, and they even got a quick demonstration on how to properly brush their teeth.
These donations will definitely help keep those smiles nice and shiny.
Taylor Joy: Free meals and health checks brought more smiles to the community and neighbors in Tarlac City. Now those are some nicely prepared packages.
Just like these kids here, I’m giving this INC Giving Project thumbs up.
Taylor Joy: Trays and trays, bags and bags and cups and cups of kindness were received by the residents in Baliwag, Bulacan. These free groceries and free breakfast were really appreciated by the recipients and helped a great number of people.
Community Members: Salamat po sa blessing! (Thank you for the blessing!)
Taylor Joy: Look at this great turnout at a clothing drive in Quezon City. Gently worn or pre-loved clothing was available for anyone who needed them. And did you know that this is helpful to the environment too?
Taylor Joy: Each item of clothing that finds a new owner doesn’t end up in a waste yard or landfill.
Taylor Joy: Okay, if I see a sign like this, I’m definitely coming in to see what it’s about. Oh, I see free hygiene kits. And are those planners for school supplies? Almost makes me want to go back to school. Almost!
Taylor Joy: Looks like here are also the free clothes and yum! Free silog meals! But wow, that’s a long line for ice cream.
Taylor Joy: There were so many incredible things provided to this community in Quezon City, and I too would have been a very happy resident and attendee.
Taylor Joy: Week after week, at the end of these recaps, I can’t help but feel inspired and moved because kindness moves! Do you feel the same?
Taylor Joy: To hold on to the feels, rewatch all the recaps and vlogs on incgiving.org, and also check out the tools page for more ideas for your next INC Giving Project.
Taylor Joy: Let us know how are you going to help your community next? Until next week. Bye everyone!
