Brother Eduardo V. Manalo—

Dear Brother,

I am –Brother Arlijune Jamero, a Head Deacon in the Local of Sta. Cruz- in the district of Davao del Sur. I’m also a Children’s Worship Service Teacher.

I was also entrusted to be the overseer of the Christian Family Organization, as well as the Society of Communicators and Networkers International, or SCAN.

I came from a poor family. My father was  a bus driver and my mother was a housewife. My parents raised me with a holy fear of God. Even with the hardships of life, my parents sent me to school from elementary school up until college.

Because we were so poor at the time, I stopped attending college and started helping my parents work instead. However, because of my desire to finish my studies, I worked hard to be a working student.

By the mercy and help of our Almighty God, I was able to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Southeastern Philippines (USEP) with a major in Mechanical Industrial Technology.

In my youth, I learned how to fulfill and value responsibilities inside the Church. Oftentimes investing a lot of effort, time, sacrifice, money, even if it means giving my life, I’m willing to give everything just to fulfill my sworn duty.

There came a time when God tested my strength, and I almost lost hope.

However, I am thankful that there is Church Administration that always guides and teaches us to stand firm and hold on to our duties, no matter how heavy the trials we face.

The worship services you lead are a great help to me, that through modern technology, live and video streaming, we can witness, see, and hear your teachings and advice for us. We deeply feel your passionate love and concern for the Church.

This is also what I have learned from you, to love and take care of the Church. Until now, I have remained firm and steadfast in my duties inside the Church.

On September 21, 2023, due to the relentless heavy rains, our area experienced severe flooding. The rivers overflowed onto the roads, and all types of vehicles were stranded.

One of the first things I thought of during that time was our chapel building in Astorga Extension because it’s so close to the river and creek, and every time there is heavy flooding, the water gradually eats away at the land where the chapel stands.

As an officer, it is my responsibility to care for the chapel building to prevent it from being damaged. The very next day, I immediately called the brethren and along with our resident minister, Brother Aldrin Castro, we filled sandbags and placed them where the land was eroding so that we could stop further erosion of the ground. Even with just a little bit of rain the wall next to the side of the chapel could collapse.

All of us worked together to the best of our abilities to take care of it and protect the house of worship. The chapel is extremely important to us because it is where we worship and gain strength during gatherings. So it’s only right that we guard it well.

Unexpectedly, the Administration learned about our efforts to care for the chapel building, and you sent us a letter. We were overjoyed when we heard that you would be writing to us.–

Little did we know that news of efforts to care for the house of worship reached the Administration, and you sent us a letter to recognize our efforts. Brother Leo Magtulis, our District Supervising Minister, read us your greetings. This moment brought us great joy.

The letter you sent us continues to  inspire and strengthen us, and our resolve to improve in our services to God and in the performances of our duties in the Church, and to further please our Almighty God.

God heard our devotional prayers, and He truly cares for our houses of worship that he would not allow them to be damaged.

We, the brethren here in Astorga, sincerely hope that, if it is God’s will, that we will have a permanent house of worship in this place, where the brethren can continue to grow in number.

Brother Eduardo, on the occasion of the 15th Anniversary of your powerful, grace-filled, and successful leadership of the Church, myself, along with my family, and the brethren from Astorga Extension all greet you a “HAPPY 15TH ANNIVERSARY PO!”

May God continue to bless you with wisdom beyond measure, exceptional health, and the well-being of your entire household and the great administration for the sake of the entire Church.

We are honored that not only did you establish the SCAN organization, but most importantly, you are our Executive Minister.

Thank you so much, Ka Eduardo!

Your brother in the Lord,

Arlijune Jamero
