MEMPHIS FAMILIES INVITED TO RECEIVE FREE AID; 5 LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS GIFTED FUNDS TO SUPPORT COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
‘Aid to Humanity’ Continues Across U.S. from Felix Y. Manalo Foundation, Inc.
WHAT: 2,000 care packages of nonperishable food and household necessities will be available to all residents and families in need in Memphis and its surrounding neighborhoods during an Aid to Humanity community outreach of the Felix Y. Manalo (FYM) Foundation, Inc., the charitable institution of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC or Church of Christ). All community members are welcome to benefit from the free services, food and entertainment for the whole family.
Five local organizations will also be recognized and gifted monetary donations from the FYM Foundation to support the community’s programs; these include the Porter Leath Orphanage Memphis, Memphis Police Department (Crump Station), Memphis Fire Fighters Association Foundation, Booker T. Washington High School, and Boys & Girls Club of Greater Memphis.
In a city with the second highest child poverty rate in the U.S., the Aid to Humanity event hopes to provide a helping hand to families from all walks of life. Memphis is only one of eight regions in the U.S. to receive Aid to Humanity the FYM Foundation this month, as part of its global aim to provide opportunity for those most in need, and contribute to supporting peaceful and productive communities.
