Life is unexpected. We can't always choose to avoid experiencing problems, but we can choose how we view problems and how we deal with them. The Bible teaches how we should consider trials in life: James 1:2-3 NIRV states, "My brothers and sisters, you will face all kinds of trouble. When you do, think of it as pure joy. And if we chose to deal with problems with god in mind, the Bible says in Romans 8:28: NIV, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who live him, who have been called according to his purpose."
